Forgive me if this has been discussed already, but I am new to all of this, and some answers that I found in search were hard for me to understand.

I have an online store that I would like to drive some traffic too. I am hoping that a blog will accomplish this. Question is do I use a subdomain of my site, or a new domain name. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Ron.

If you want the blog to be tightly integrated to the store use a subdomain. For example Mike's Bikes would be the store and Mike's Bike Blog would be the blog and would be very open that it is about Mike's Bikes and somewhat commercial in its views. If you just want a blog that is neutral and will have general readership and you want to talk about bikes in general then a separate domain would be my choice. Also you may want to flip one or the other or both and you need to decide if you will want to unbundle them.
