Best way to promote a diet program?

I want to promote a weight-loss program. I know it's a jam-packed niche - but does that mean it's just too difficult to break into unless you're a "big boy?" If so, fine I'll move on.

It's an affiliate program with a good sales page/funnel, and average payout (with upsells) is about $50.

I have a budget of about $400. PPC is out of the question, I know. The three traffic sources I can think of that might work are banners, solo ads and Facebook. But I have questions of all three:

Banners - Are they even effective anymore? What's a reputable company from which to purchase? Too expensive for this niche?

Solos - For weight loss? I have a good free report with sales links embedded, but solos for weight loss?

Facebook - Like "banner blindness," don't people have "FB ad blindness" by now? Like PPC too expensive?

Any feedback much appreciated. And please if you think (or better yet, know for a fact) that this niche is too tough to even attempt with the budget I have, just lay it on me.

    you have $400 dollars in your budget that is amazing budget. as this niche are jammed packed i know but there are people who are looking to buy. you have to buy a website in the first place.
    but do you know starting a website in the new might be really costly because you are starting from scratch.
    I would suggest you to go to Expired Domains with PR, Backlinks and more completely FREE
    search for your keyword niche and you can buy website which is expired but it has high ranking. so all you want is hosting plan where you will be using that website and the person who already have spend much of the time promoting taking it to PR3 your job is now easy

    this is the link availble for only 1 dollar! buy that used domain name and then start building your niche and you are ahead of million of companies starting as a new!

      Thanks, but I'm not interested in anything to do with SEO. In the weight-loss niche! I have no chance. I'm looking for good traffic sources.

      1) Weight Loss is not a niche it's a market..
      2) If you think that $400 is an "amazing" budget in that market then you should do your homework...

    Offer a $400 prize to the person who loses the most weight using the system.

    Contestants must send you regular updates and before and after pictures at the end of the contest.

    You won't get many contestants for a $400 prize, but it won't take many to help you do some promotional sharing on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, etc....

    Hopefully the entrants all buy the course through your link. (You might even state you are adding $10 to the prize pot for each person that buys the course through your links...)

    I also second the above comment of Barry about hosting a contest. With appropriate permission, you might even be able to use the submitted photos for your future campaigns. This type of before-and-after photos are somewhat like a reality show, and people really do love a good show.

      Have you bought the program and went through it?

      Have you lost any weight with it?

      Why not do what the course says and lose some weight and then market your results.
