Where to find the best article writers that do really good work

Hey everyone:

Looking for recommendations of sites or individuals that write really high quality articles. Price is not a concern; I'm willing to pay $100 - $150 or perhaps more for good work.

These articles are for sites that are important to me, where I want the content to be top notch. I'm really looking for university graduate type writers, maybe journalists who want to make some extra money.

Oh, I also need American writers, or could be British, Australian, New Zealand etc as long as their main language is English.

I'm aware of The Content Authority ... any other suggestions?

Have you tried the warriors for hire section?

I personally haven't purchased any content through there (I do it all myself), but at just a single glance I can see a few who look to have nothing but good reviews.

    Here

    Here

    And Here

A few examples of people that might be worth checking out.

freelancer.com is also a good alternative!
Otherwise just look at the "Warriors for Hire" section! There are really good writers, also companies with american writers. Price is fair and quality is good! Just look at the reviews inside the WSO!

Hey there! For that amount, you will be able to find a large pool of quality writers. I myself was surprised at your rate, and I would gladly jump on the opportunity to work for a client who actually honors me enough to pay for quality work that handsomely.

If you are still looking for a writer, then check my profile on Freelancer.com,and we will see if we can work something out together or not!

    Cheers, and good luck!

iWriter is a good place to get your articles written. The best part is that you can review the complete article before releasing payment to the writer. The writers are also rated, so you can hire only the top rated ones.

There are tons of places to get high quality content written for you.

I will give you my personal favorites:

Odesk.com- This is a really great website and for your budget you will be able to find excellent writers. Avoid the ones from east Asia/India due to language barriers.
Target writers from the United States, Canada , or any other western English speaking country.

Iwriter.com- i have never had a problem here and you should be a able to find excellent writers from the States. (Some with degrees in English, Journalism etc..,). whats more is that it is really affordable and you budget more than covers that. You will be able to get top notch written content at a cheaper price.

Fivver.com- This is is great if you are on a tight budget. But if you look around you will find a lot of gems here. It does take a little longer for writers to deliver you work (Usually 3 days) unlike the two sites mentioned above, but usually you can get great content written for you in bulk and at a cheap price.

    Hope that helps!

I seldom answer questions like this - but I spent several years as a freelance writer in the $50+/article range you mention.

You do NOT want "a service" - you want to make a connection with 2-3 skilled writers. That means you go to Elance or Freelancer - you choose writers with high skill levels and great reviews - and you INVITE them to submit a bit to you.

Many people do not know this level of "hiring" exists - and I'm not sure
Freelancer has the option bhut I know Elance does because I've had dozens of invitations myself in the past.

The beauty of this method is you bypass all the low end writers as you don't open your project up to everyone. You specify the level of language skills, you give detailed list of what you expect.

Before long you will have 2-3 professional writers you can trust to do the work well. Pay them what they're worth - throw in a bonus on occasion for a good job.

It will pay off in the long run and the stress of finding a few top writers is more than balanced by a good, long term professional relationship.

I've got a few samples on the drop-down menu at

    Northwest Arkansas Web Content

I don't think these are 100% the type of you have in mind, but they are some of the better ones I have on the Web. I also wrote the rest of the site, except for the "Trying to decide what the next move is?" part.

The kind of writing you're looking for, I have ghostwritten as reports for different clients. PM me if you'd like me to share some of that work.

    Thank you,
    Brad Carroll

I'd suggest finding someone who's already writing and has content published online... like a blogger or guest blogger. 90% of bloggers make less than $100 a month with their blog. But many are damn good writers.

Just approach them with a straight deal via email. You'd be surprised how many will jump on the opportunity. We did this in the gardening niche and got 5 bloggers for $20 an article and a backlink to their blog.

I'm sure if we offered $50-100 WITHOUT a backlink, they would've all taken it.

Sorry to burst everyone's bubble, but you won't find any of those at the sites suggested above. So I suggest hitting college websites or sites that cater to journalists. The majority of people who work through the sites above have been trained to write quickly and in bulk -- not thoroughly.

That is just wrong - no other way to say it. I know excellent writers who earn a living on freelance sites. They don't write in the "MMO - 2 cents a word" categories nor do they bid on jobs where low pay is a requirement. These freelance writers know the buzzwords buyers use to mean "low price" or "I want a deal" and they avoid those buyers. They have high ratings on the freelance site and deal with buyers who have equally good reviews.

If you can't find good writers on freelance sites - you aren't looking properly or aren't willing to pay the price for quality. Even though I no longer work through freelance sites, I still have to argue when I see someone dismiss freelancers as "not good". If you are willing to pay for top writers - you can find them on freelance sites.

I've graduated college, written for countless newspapers/magazines/websites and I have several steady clients on Elance. I am not sure why you would think that experienced writers would not use these types of sites to find work, but we definitely do when holes in our calendar open up.

As others have said, avoid the "writing mills" that sub the work out to third parties. The writing is never consistent and you're much better off building 1:1 relationships with 2-3 writers to handle your needs.

I guess because every experienced writer I've ever talked to laughs at these types of sites. To them, working through those sites is the same as working at McDonalds. And based on the pay, treatment of the writers, and general B.S. (i.e. client expectations, faulty rating systems, etc.), I tend to agree -- especially since I've worked through a few of them!

There area many freelancing market place. You can use any freelancing site. Here I would like to tell you, it is not important which freelancing site you are going to use, but it is really important which kind of freelancer you are going to hire. Before hiring anyone you need to see his previous work style, work history, feedback. His country, his native language or, something like these. As you are ready to pay a high rate, so you will get as you want. Thanks a lot.

Try Problogger job board. Also, I'd just visit sites whose articles you like and then reach out to the site owner directly about it.

Laurencewins would fit the bill...I don't know anyone else on the thread (sorry).

I used to write technical content, $100 for 600 words for an Inc. Top 500 company as their one and only writer, but it stopped being worth my time.

@area51backlinks: if you're interested, message me and I'll give a couple suggestions of non-WF writers I've used for my offline efforts.

And I agree with what Kay King said in post #11. Get at least two writers you have a relationship with. Because one will flake on you sooner or later...that's life.

    Price is not the issue.

    Niche specialization is.

Look for blogs that specialize in your niche and look for quality writing.

Approach the blogger and ask if they can write highly specific citation-backed materials.

You might even save a few bucks doing things this way.

Content mills will only leave you burned and endanger your brand's credibility.
