PLR and Duplicate Content. Should I stay away?

I only have one question: Would buying a PLR consiting of 6-7 articles, and publishing them, come off/be flagged by google as duplicate content? ( If I were to publish them as individual articles,I mean). I just do not think that the content in these packages can be unique when they are open for almost anyone to buy and publish. Thanks.

I think you cannot just simply publish these articles without putting your own extra input. These PLR articles content are likely not the most unique. And as you mentioned, they are likely to have overlapping content.

    My 2 cents~ Cheers

Short advice, You should not use PLR content as your main content. Rewrite them and use for 2nd or 3rd tier link building.

Moreover, good PLRs are not just crap. They have good content, which you can modify to bring visitors to your site and from there your main content takes on.

I agree with the others... I wouldn't use PLR or Duplicate content on my websites. If you go with either, PLR would be better. But, if you do then as others have mentioned, you should spin the content and change it up quite a bit.

The big G is a cash rich, resourceful, multi-billion dollar corporation.

As such they can employ the brightest people to constantly improve their algorithms.

As such, duplicate content is very easily picked up by Google.

They are looking for sites with quality content. Original content. Fresh content.

I would say buy the PLR articles and use them as a base. Re write each line and you will have 100% original content, without the pressure of having to come up with it in the first place.

Not as quick as copy and paste - but MUCH quicker than writing your articles completely from scratch.

    Hope that helps

    All the best

    Trevor

Thanks, guys! That is what I thought! I have never used PLR content on my site. It was just something that I have come across recently, and I wanted some expert opinion on that! Thanks for confirming! Thank you all!

To publish a plr content, you should at least rewrite the full article manually so that it passes Copyscape. Otherwise, it will be flagged as duplicate content on Google.

You can spin and use plr content if you want to use them for tier 2 and tier 3 sites. The most important thing is don't use plr as it is.

Google still cannot directly tell quality content from junk without having an employee read it manually. They can only see the difference by indirect means. E.g. no one stays on site very long.

    Hey TobinBell

PLR content is a great way to create content without you having to do it yourself. The best way to use PLR content is to rewrite it yourself and brand it in your name/name of your business.

Don't use it exactly as it is or you risk running into some problems later on.

You can do re-write your articles in 2 ways.
You can rewrite the whole thing yourself , but I am not a fan of this.

It is much better to get someone else to do it for you, as you can save a lot of
time doing other important things for your businness.

I personally use Fivver, and Iwriter(search in Google).

You can find great writers who will re-write my content for dirt cheap ($5-$10) per article.

So to answer your question I wouldn't use the articles as they were because we all know how strict and tough Google can be.

Just write your own. It takes no more than 15-minutes to write your own 500+ word articles. Plus some of the PLR you get have poor grammar, misspellings, poor layout, etc. Offering a PLR article on your site "as-is" would probably frustrate alot of your readers. I know it would for me. I go for the unspoken answer of just to write your own.

Plus... i believe you have a misguided view of what "duplicate content" is.

Of course, no one here has mentioned limited distribution PLR, that you can also buy. Usually these will cost you $8-$10 for a 500-word article, and are only distributed 25-50 times total, depending on the author/ distribution site. It's a little bit cheaper than having a good article written yourself, but a viable option if you don't want to do the work of rewriting.

I think your better off simply writing your own articles but you can get a lot of juice out of them. Do your keyword research and put the best, most engaging content on your site. Then write at least two duplicate sentences for every sentence in each article and then hand spine them to the word level using something like the Best spinner.

This will take you time but once you've done it you'll have literally hundreds of highly unique, related articles to use as content as you see fit. Building Tier 1 web 2.0 properties or on your PBN for example.

In the long run this will be a lot more effective (and more cost effective) than simply forking out for what will almost certainly be poorly written duplicate content.
