Thinking of offering my services (food photo / recipes) - advice appreciated

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping for some advice. I am thinking of offering my services to write recipes, and sell my photos. I've seen it done in some of the Facebook groups I'm in where people will offer beautiful photos, and sell them either exclusively (one blogger) or semi-exclusive (up to 4 bloggers / same recipe, pics somewhat changed).

I'm wondering if there is actually a market for this? I have the experience, and even starting my own recipe blog, but I was thinking as a cool way to make some side income I'd start selling some.

This one girl seems to do pretty well selling semi-exclusive photos. I'm actually very impressed.

nobody can give you a definitive answer... so, test it rapidly and see... just don't marry the idea, until it's proven

Thanks for the reply. I actually e-mailed her to see how much she charges for exclusive recipes and wow.. she seems to be killing it. $65 each. I think I'll look into this a bit more.

If it's done casually on Facebook, then I wouldn't say that's a large market.

Do you know any major, established websites doing something similar? Possibly companies specialising in that?

It depends on how much you'd be interested in making from this? It's clear that there's a demand for it, since you know a lady who does precisely that, but there's a difference between making $1-2k/month and $10k/month...

From what I've seen, and not just from this girl, what they do is create one recipe, and create 4-5 different sets of photos. They sell them Semi-Exclusive for a set price, typically $20-25 a set. So, she makes $100 per recipe with the bloggers knowing that it's the same recipe, just different pictures. These last few days it looks like the one girl made $500 easily. I do know a few virtual assistant offers that offer this as well.

When you're a recipe blogger, you wouldn't be making $10k/month in recipe development even if a company did approach you. But, it is a good area to make income in if done right.
