Bukisa disabled my account!

I'm not sure if you guys use Bukisa much.

I started to noticed a trend in my traffic that a large amount came from my Bukisa articles, so I recently started to emphasize Bukisa in my article-writing strategy. Early this morning I got a response from Bukisa saying an article had been rejected on the grounds of self-promotion.

"No biggie," I thought -- perhaps I included too many links.

I've been careful not to use excessive self-promotion in my articles -- just the typical amount that you might find anyway, mostly consisting of an Author's box and maybe a link or two in the text, if allowed.

LAter, I realize my whole account has been deactivated! I put a lot of time into that account, and had some unique content on there! I wrote them, though I doubt they'll respond helpfully.

What a bummer!

That sucks. Their site says you can make money when people read your articles - Is that part of it worthwhile?

Ya gotta be careful when you play in someone else's backyard.

And ya gotta play by their rules and absorb the various and many changes to those rules.

Bukisa is a big NO-NO for article marketers. It seems that recently they changed their rules (but did NOT post such change in their TOS ) and now you're NOT allowed to have author's resource boxes for your articles There still are a lot of articles posted on their site that have resource boxes, but the founder of the site told me that this is not true

Read this tweet sent by Bukisa to me: https://twitter.com/bukisa/status/2333169719

Actually here is what happened to me (read also the comments that follow after the blog post - they are updates): Bukisa Review - Just Another No-No Business Model

Thanks for the insight. I had no idea Bukisa was such a crappy operation. I would discourage anyone from investing their time into that site.

Web 2.0 sites are not your marketing platform - one day people will start to understand this. Many sites are getting sick of "marketers" (I use that word loosly) that just want to use their sites for promotion.

Trust me this trend is not going to stop anytime soon, many more will follow squidoo, facebook, hubpages, and etc ...

If you abuse it, you lose it!

This is definitely true. Many of these sites are designed simply to attract traffic to themselves using content written by its users and then pay those users a small percentage of whatever monetization scheme the site implements. If the site profits off of Google Ads placed in the sidebar and you're trying to get ppl to click a link in your resource box of your article hosted on that site, there's a bit of a conflict of interest there from the site's point of view.

As James (TheRichJerksNet) stated, web 2.0 sites
are not your marketing platform. Even Squidoo,
owned by known marketer Seth Godin, can easily
change its terms and conditions to not allow easy
    marketing of your own stuff.

The best thing to do is to always, ALWAYS put
your own content on your own site before you
spread the word out to the rest of the internet.

Build your own site and content first before others.

I wish more people would follow that advice before listening to some wannabe marketer that writes and ebook and says you must use web 2.0 sites as your marketing platform.

This is the reason why many sites are getting strict and the bad part is those that abuse it, ruins it for all of us.
