What is ad network and affiliate?

Hi I am new in mobile marketing and I am really confused about the meaning of all the words. Actually I have plenty of offers from my advertisers and I am looking for traffic to run them. So who should be the affilaite? Am I the affiliate?( I represent a DSP) Or are the traffic source providers also my affiliate? How about the publishers? What's the relationship between publishers and affiliate? Is the affiliate program the same as ad network?

Will be many thanks for any reply or help!!!!

If you are promoting a product that is not yours, you are the affiliate.

If you have your own product and people are selling it for you for a percentage of the commission, you are the vendor.

Your traffic source is NOT an affiliate nor is it the product vendor/owner. It is just a traffic source.

How about if I got lots of offers which are not my own products, and I would like to make them with lots of installs, what's the best way for me to get the traffic? Should I find some other affiliates to run the offers or what should I do to get the most traffic?

You don't need to find affiliates on products you are promoting, you basically need to get the traffic yourself and pocket the commission

The only time you need affiliates is if and only if the product is yours.

Hey it is quite simple really!

An affiliate is someone who promotes someone else product and receives a commission as a result.

For example If you were an affiliate and were promoting a weight loss ebook for $10.00, and your commission (The amount you earn for each sale) is 50% then you would earn $5.00 for each sale you make.

If you made 10 sales you would make $50.00 It is just like being a salesperson but online .

Anybody can be an affiliate, just like anybody can be a sales person. The best network for affiliates is Clickbank.com because you can just sign up and begin promoting straight away!

A publisher is the same as an affiliate, but uses a different word.

Is an affiliate product the same as an ad network?
No an affiliate product is not usually the same as an ad network. An ad network is basically like a supermarket. The product is like the prducts in the supermarket. In other words different product vendors will come to an affiliate network to sell their products through them.

Thanks for your help and your definition is so vivid!
And I also hope to know, how could I get the direct traffic and avoid the affiliates' commission?
