Should I give away an offer with my ebook?

Hi there.

I have been thinking of giving away free web hosting with my ebook (which is based around working for yourself - essentially online).

Do people think this is a good incentive to the book, devalues it, should be offered later or perhaps as a sign up for a mailing list incentive.

    I would do it the other way around. Offer the ebook free if they buy hosting though your affiliate link

    A free offer is always a good incentive to capture peoples information, allowing you to market to them later.

    Alternatively, your eBook could be a bonus to make a package more attractive or if it really adds value and aligns to the customer, it could even be a small upsell.

    There are many options but incorporating as much content and value as possible can only help you build rapport with your network.

      Thanks winnermarketing that is wise words in terms of the return. I pay £36 to host an unlimited number of websites a month so it should be a low risk offer to give away

      Thanks charity4Uall like I say im doing the hosting at £5 for 2 years and then the book itself is £4.95 - now thinking that maybe I should just be giving the book away free.

    A free offer is good, along with an attractive price point for your hosting.

    Or like Al said you can reverse that and offer free hosting if they purchase your ebook.

    In my opinion it is always a good idea to recommend an amazing offer in your E-book or report, because if the offer is good and relevant to your niche people will buy it.

    Again it depends what your niche is and what the topic of your ebook is.

    Some marketers think it is good to give away free content first before promoting affiliate products in order to build trust and relationship with your customers. While that is a good idea you are leaving a lot of money on the table, because if you are giving good advice in your e-book, there is no reason for you not to make some money in the process!

      Thanks for that input - there is a relevance but it might not be for everyone - however now loving the idea of making this a tier option .

      At the moment its on Amazon - no plug here but its called How To **** It Up - my name is Graham Davidson - if anyone on here wants to drop me a PM I can send a copy as PDF if interested.

    I remember back in '95, I bought Kim Komando's CyberBuck$ book which offered free web hosting via a special code inside the text. Come to think of it, I believe a few internet books offered the same thing at that time, and they might have made that offer on the cover.

    Anyway, that offer prompted me to buy the book and then that book and then that other book over there too. I don't use the server space anymore, of course, but I do have a lot of books.

    Yep - if it's relevant, bundling special offers/freebies typically always improves response.

    I would also consider offering a OTO or back-end upsell to "Premium" web package that bundles in 1-hour of help setting up a blog or setting up basic sales page site - you can either contract this out or do it yourself if you have the ability - that could easily bring you 3X more for a good portion of your buyers.
