Bing Ads - enough already!

This has been a somewhat 'hot platform." There have been multiple WSOs featuring this. I bought two of them, and both suggested setting bids at 5 cents - no matter what the keyword!

This sounded ridiculous to me. Surely it can't be THAT easy. And of course it isn't.

I had a $100 Bing coupon so I wasn't worried about losing money. I tried the "muscle building" niche. After 3 days at .05/click I had a grand total of 8 IMPRESSIONS (and zero clicks) using 62 keywords.

Clearly it's nonsense that somehow Bing is an "untapped" platform that delivers dirt-cheap clicks.

So I upped my bid to .75, which has gotten me an average position of 3.52 (not bad). But still only 136 IMP/18 clicks (13.24%) after 5 days. Five days and only 136 imps at .75!?

Why are people coming out with WSOs that are clearly BS? I'm not talking Johnny-Come-Lateleys but guys with several years and several hundred posts under their belts.

    To make money.

Their products probably do work, but for you to see the same results, you would have to copy their campaigns down to the period. That is why most PPC products offer an upsell where you can copy the entire successful PPC campaign, and "copy the guru's" success, otherwise, you're left with basic information on how to set up an account.

Just to be perfectly clear, there is no PPC network that gives quality, decent converting clicks for 5 cents.

Yeah it's not as simple as just setting the bid at one price for all campaigns and all keywords

I try to set it low then slowly raise

Actually I've done the opposite for years for myself and clients with great success. You start higher, then scale back. Make sure your ad is super targeted-once rolling, clicks coming in about day or so of adjusted and running ad-ads, then cut back about 10-20% (depending on niche etc..), then continue and so on...

if done right, set your ad right you'll notice higher click throughs, better quality and lower costs for better positions. There is more to it than that, but...

Then once you know traffic isn't the issue...

Work on improving conversions on your site.

By the way, from my experience bing quality has gone way down since merging with yahoo few years back...

Bing 's quality used to be way better and basically forced now to run on bing and yahoo at the same time.

Also no way 5 cents clicks are going to get you anywhere regardless of niche. Eventually you want to get to the point where your campaign is profitable on the backends and can invest way more than your competition for traffic on the front-end, meaning better quality coming in and better results.

When backend is set up right, you can lose money everyday on the front end and still be extremely profitable.

I second this wholeheartedly. These wso's or free advice about Bing is only to upsell you to a coaching program of theirs. And I've tackled the Bing thing also and to make a campaign profitable, you will not stay at .05 cent bids long for you to compete. I hate that these marketers do this. Why not just be honest and not mislead people into thinking that it will work in the long run? Such bull crap!

I think the problem is that it promises $0.05 cent but they don't actually delivered! Even with a plug and play campaign. Come on, let's face it, if there are more people bidding for the same keyword, will the keyword still remain at a low price? Of course not right.
