Twitter has a new homepage

i like it better than the last. :-)

I think it looks wonderful just waiting for the advertising now as they have been threatening to do it for ages.

Been using Twitter but I didn't notice that. Anyways, New Twitter Homepage look's cool than before.

It isn't simply a "new look".

It's a totally "new strategy" for attracting new sign ups and getting current signed up twitterers more involved.

If you look closely, the search box is the most prominent item on that page.

Now twitter.com looks like a search engine site (like google) and entices you to type in any keywords you're interested in (and again like google) shows you results of what people are saying about those keywords virtually in real time -- which is even better than google

This will automatically draw you/others into what specific people are tweeting about and from there you/they might want to "follow" them. Which means you then either need to sign up or sign in.

Bottom line, before this design twitter.com was mainly a sign up page like facebook which probably wasn't getting the most desired results--I know I sent some folks to twitter.com who didn't know what to do next or who wouldn't have cared to subscribe if I didn't push them to. Twitter.com also admits most people "don't get twitter.com immediately"

Now though, the "new look" presents a hybrid approach... it's a search engine site like google (easy information research is a key crowd puller online) and a sign up SM (social media) site like facebook.

Combine those 2 strengths and the results will be interesting to "follow".

Interesting Twitter Marketing Prediction:

Very soon we're likely to start seeing TSEO (Twitter Search Engine Optimization) strategy experts popping with "How to get to no. 1 on twitter's search engine for any keyword you like" (because this just might get you a better twitter audience than before;-).

I like it.

Has anyone noticed the change
with the Followers page? Before
you could place your cursor over
their photo to read their bio.

Now with the upgrade you have
to open the profile completely to
read about the follower.

Are there any shortcuts that you
may be aware of? The new upgrade
has slowed me down with adding
new followers.
