If the internet didn't exist, what else would you do to generate a passive income?

Is there such a thing as potential passive income outside of the Internet? haha jk

I would probably would have got involved in the food and service industry somehow, with the goal of running a handful of restaurant chains.

Does that even count as passive income when you're working your tail off?

This is cool. Nice thread, IT (like the imagination!).

My twisted interpretation:

"When the zombie apocalypse inevitably occurs, how are you going to make money while fending off flesh-eaters?"

I'd get a shop to house my products, make some t-shirts, and - rather bravely - tackle zombies and wrestle them into the t-shirts. On the front? My ad copy! Back? Directions to the store.

Probably go back to what I was doing before the Internet; see, I can remember back that far!

I think if it was just the Internet that went down, I'd go back to running ads in one of the local newspapers for my writing and typing skills while helping my husband with his crafts.

No, it's not exactly passive income, unless I wrote a book that became a best seller.

I would do Network Marketing even then. Its not dependent on Internet. We can do it offline too. We need only a bunch of committed team members and then gradually the income becomes passive. Finding those members online or offline it doesn't matter.

If there was no internet and I had to build a passive income offline, I would get into Amway or Herbalife.

You just need to find a few good leaders under you and your income will just grow for years to come.

Well, I got started in direct response marketing WITHOUT the internet. So if the internet were to cease to exist, I'd concentrate more on OFFLINE direct response (I still run offline campaigns anyway).

I'd run info mercials and do postcards for cheap/free reports and courses and then build a boiler room to UPSELL these buyers to larger courses, coaching and memberships.

The principals are much the same as IM, though obviously they're executed differently. I do a lot of IM these days but in some markets, I still use the "old school" offline stuff with great results.

Also, if the internet vanished, one would be well served by becoming fast friends with Dan Kennedy - the guy from whom I learned almost 20 (!) years ago.
