Learning from real world vs. learning from books

I believe losers learn only from books and from internet, winners learn mostly from real world, from trial and error and from observing their competitors.

Do you know some good methods how to learn from real world, besides trial and error, A/B splittesting, ready fire aim, etc.? What about learning loops?

And how do you learn from competitors if the most of whats going inside is invisible, its also hard to find where they advertise or what kind of keywords they use for PPC and SEO. How do you figure out how their business model works?

Are there some good books or websites about this, how to accelerate and systemize the learning? Winners also read a lot of books, but they apply them immediately and then they learn more from the real world experience.

This post confuses me. I thought at the start you said only losers learn from books, yet at the end of your post you ask people to recommend some good books? Have I missed something? I'm confused.

Every billionaire reads a lot. Warren Buffet for example reads 8 hours a day.
Knowledge is power. Gather it everywhere. Books are one of your BEST tools to gather knowledge. Read classic books, read practical how to books, read biographies.

Read. Learn. But also apply. Then test and tweak. If you do not take actions. Then it will forever be just theory.

Read Tim Ferris 4 Hour Workweek if you wanna get motivated to start doing...

    Cheers!

Thanks for your feedback. I have edited the post because it was confusing. This is not post about books, winners and losers.

The question is how to accelerate and improve the learning from real world, because most people use only A/B splittesting and it can be very expensive and also takes a lot of time. Maybe there are also other techniques how to learn from your mistakes and from competitors.

I think the TRIAL & ERROR method is the best method for learning. There is no way to learn perfectly without practical way. So if anyone wants to learn something he must start the work practically. Thanks for your good post.

I think you've answered your question - that's how everyone learns.

There are no secret methods or tricks. I would advise reading ebooks as a side thing, rather than as a primary source for learning what to do, because ebooks are generally very broad and give you an all-around knowledge, rather than any specific 1-2-3 steps...

Some examples would be, The Millionaire Fast Lane by MJ DeMarco, I Can Make You Rich by Paul McKeena or How To Get Rich by Felix Dennis.

And yes, learning from your competition is great, but you will have to dig in yourself and reverse-engineer what they've done, because no one is going to babysit you and explain their whole business strategy.

I agree with the above post. You have answered your own question.

Personally, I learn from experience, getting out there and doing things.

For example, I have a degree in commerce. I learnt more working at an accounting firm for 3 months than I did the 3 years at uni.

Life experience is the best teacher you will have.

How much time do you spend reflecting what you did wrong, what lessons you have learned and how to implement it in your business or your life? I think nobody is really doing it seriously. But what is the cost of making the same mistake again and again. How much dividend it would pay to take the time for reflection 30 min. every day? Is it more important than the daily business and getting results immediately? Actually this is the "working on business instead of working in business", everybody is talking about it and nobody is doing it.

And what about the reverse engineering of competition? Are there some methods how to do it? I think there is no reason for reinventing the wheel, if there is already solution. It´s better to put the energy and creativity to improve the best solution instead of starting from scratch.
