My first week ebook sales

I thought I'd let you all know how I got on last week launching my first ebook.

I sold 170 in my first week. I guess that's OK right?

There's a lot I've learnt from this and now working on my next ebook. Sales are still coming in every day.

It's a very nice feeling. Thanks to everyone who helped me over the past few weeks

Thanks :-) It's my own set up. I started with gumroad and have now switched to Ejunkie.

Seriously, I don't get why Gumroad gets so much hype. It looks nice but that's about it. Ejunkie is awesome. People seem a lot happier with the direct paypal payment that Ejunkie gives. It's also ways cheaper, and I get they don't hold my money!

Anyway, time will be the test. I hope the sales sustain. That's when I'll know if it has been worth it. It was a big ebook to write

    Hey, well done.

That's a good start. Keep it going.

Is it in the IM niche?

Congratulations! It's a nice feeling when you can leverage a network and the traffic on it. Awesome job and keep it up and like you said you learned alot so that is probably more important than the money itself.

Now go out and do it again and we'll see you on the best sellers list some day!

No it's no IM niche. It's... I guess it could be a few different niches: travel, campervan, DIY, escaping

    170 copies @ £10 each? or £170 worth = 17 copies?

Whether either is "OK" depends on your own expectations.

Some would say it depends on the time/energy/expenses, size of list,
and other efforts you made to get the result you got.

However, in the end, it's always nice when people pay for something you created,
and especially when they write you telling you how it changed their life etc.
    Been there.

I trust you will get similar feedback with this book.

    Congrats!

I've seeing posts like this. This is what we want to see, people taking action and being successful. Well done, had my first sale about a month ago and I was over the moon.

Makes you hungrier to do more work and make more money! All the best.

How did you manage to sell 170 in one week? Are these just your sales or affiliates?

And what's your product's URL anyway?

The ebook you are selling sounds like a great ebook! I'm no stranger to sleeping in my car. From what i can see, you should be able to become the "go to guy" in this niche. Congrats on your sales, and i hope you get more!

Where you messed up is you didn't have an upsell to a higher ticket product.

Nice man. Pretty good launch for just you and no affiliates. You would've really had a bigger impact with an upsell though.

Curious. How many followers do you have on social networks and your blog? Also, do you only target UK or worldwide?

Try to bump up the price to 17 Pounds that might work better... I would test a few pricing points

Next, what traffic source do you use? Can you improve your advertising and can you advertise it on more sources...Are you using PPC?

Ok, and what about Amazon? I'm not saying you would be the best seller but you might pick up some sales here and there.

Anyway, keep up good work... I hope I gave you a few great ideas... good luck!

To be honest. I feel like I did a crap job of selling this. I did a bad pre-launch, and I haven't really tried to 'sell' it.

Also, I'm not looking to make as much money as possible out of my followers. I don't want to sell sell sell, and I don't want to be forceful. I think it's annoying.

Many of my followers are now friends who I talk to on a regular basis. And today I'm going to meet someone who bought the ebook. This is a big thing I learnt: followers are real people who are as smart, if not smarter than you (mine are way smarter than me), you cannot just push offers into their faces and expect them to buy.

I have a genuine drive to help people do what I have done/doing. I think that's what's helping me right now.

An ebook containing almost 300 pages of info about van-home conversion with illustrations, pictures and whatnot, which you are selling for £10, is a massive value for money, so you don't have to feel guilty about selling anything.

It's packaging that matters, because pretty much whatever ebooks are sold out there, you can find the information for free online. However, what you're paying for in an ebook is an organized package, all-in-one solution, meaning saving time and energy by not having to do the research yourself.

Be sure to list your ebook in the eJunkie marketplace. That will bring you some extra sales without a lot of extra work.

The very best to you in this project.

I used to read your blog (found on another forum) regularly and it was very interesting. Seems you have change your website a bit. You already had a popular blog and loyal followers which you are using to sell your eBook. Its a very good technique and the niche is also very unique.

You can also monetize your website through subscription considering your niche and the authority of your website.

Congratulation for your brilliant success. It is not easy to sell a new ebook 170 times in the first week, which you have done. Thanks & Carry on. You will be success in the near future. Thanks again.

    Hey Mike,

I've just checked out your website and the before and after pictures are amazing. What a great blog you've got there.

It's really a unique subject to write about. Although you say you didn't want to sell, sell, sell, I'm sure you could expand on this and find lots of material to write further books.

If I were handy with DIY, I would consider this myself.

Well done & good luck with the book.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement and support. This place is really cool and it's what I need when I'm trying to do all this on my own.

Good point about listing on the ejunkie market place! and if anyone wants to earn some money with me (affiliate program) then give me a shout.

Out of interest, is there anyone on here covering my niche? or anything related?
