Want to create a product. But on what subject?

Hi guys and gals,

So I think the subject line mentions it all. But to clarify I want to create my own ebook/ product. But I'm not sure on which subject. Would traffic generation be a good place to start? If not, what other subjects would be in demand?

Many thanks,
MrEyeconic

Go to the WSO forum and sort the posts by visits. Work backwards, starting with the most visited. Stop at the first product that covers a topic that you think that you could create a product for. Buy it. Make yours better. Sell it. The end.

    Google research.

Use the Google keywords external tool.

    Find a high-traffic niched.

Where does your expertise (or access to the expertise of others) reside?

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Lance, the expertise is mainly in the IM niche, so anything to do with IM would be possible. But it's so large it can be difficult to know where to start.

Sitting right in front of you hear sir - learn to read between the lines of the topics with the most reads and participation, you will not only find a product opportunity, but also understand the passion behind the topic.

There are other forums like this one too...use those to compare notes.

Look at Clickbank and see what is selling.

Check Yahoo Answers - what questions about IM exist?

Another approach is to look at a few of the top selling programs on the market and ask yourself - what is missing? I first did this back in 2001 where I saw a glaring gap in a few of the top selling training programs - then developed a quick product to fill the gap and had instant demand.

Finally - you'll find lots of free videos outlining these techniques and others here...enjoy! (no opt-in or cost involved)

Traffic Generation is always a good one but you need to know your stuff.

In addition, anything that shows people how to do the IM basics will normally get a good response/opt-in rate.

Do some research using the Google Adwords Keyword Tool and also the Free Wordtracker Tool.

Dummies.com is a good place to find niche ideas but you're probably not short of them if you're in the IM market.

    Keiths idea was a good'un
