Hello folks, how to promote a website? People on my Twitter account aren't my targeted audience. Seems like they're promoting their niche too. How to engage with potential followers?

Think of multiple sources of traffic for your website and work on one and then branch out into others.

    For example:

    1. Facebook.
    2. SEO
    3. YouTube

    you need traffic.

Free traffic (slow method): opena Twitter page(you already have it), facebook page and start post photo, sentences..
    post comments on forums, blogs....

Paid traffic: learn to manage a PPC campaign (AdWords, FAcebook, bing) and you will get targetted traffic!

Social media is just one way, but you need to find the social media site that the people in your niche use. I've come to learn that people in certain niches prefer to use some social media sites over others. You should also be getting ranked in the search engines for keywords at the end of the buying cycle that the people in your niche use [product name + review] and so on.

Make sure to not throw all your eggs in the one basket and rely on Twitter to drive all your traffic... There are plenty of other ways to drive traffic to your website:

    1. Video marketing
    2. Forum marketing
    3. Blog commenting
    4. PPC
    5. SEO
    6. Media buying
    7. Social media marketing
    8. Posting regular EXTREMELY HIGH QUALITY content (quality is king these days, Google will love you!)

You should join all the forums in your niche, set up your signature and provide value. Driving traffic with forums is all about providing value and helping people. Post long, detailed replies that are extremely helpful in threads. Try and post in at least 10 threads every day (shouldn't take you long at all)

Next I would post high quality videos on all the video platforms (YouTube, Dailymotion, Vimeo, Metacafe, etc)... There are tons of people out there uploading pure garbage and ranking in the #1 slots, if you can make a high quality video with a voice over that's providing value on whatever it is in your niche, search engine optimize the video, blast some views, likes, comments and social signals it's way, you'll rank your keyword in no time... Try go for the lower competition keywords, it's gonna be pretty hard knocking a video with over 20,000 views off the #1 slot for your keyword...

Next I would try and comment in at least 10-20 blogs per day, just like posting in forums you need to provide value. You can't just comment bullsh*t, you need to provide value.

Lastly, social media. You've already got a Twitter account, so keep building it. Share all your posts on your social media accounts and build them as much as you can.

I'm guessing spending money to drive traffic is probably out of your comfort zone right now. If you stick to the above and keep blasting out EXTREMELY HIGH QUALITY content on your website, you'll have BOAT LOADS of traffic rushing your way soon!

In my opinion, posting extremely detailed, high quality content is king.

  • Every niche is different, but I make the majority of my sales doing video marketing. In addition to that I use Facebook Group marketing, LinkedIn and online classified sites.

Every niche is different and unique, in my niche free traffic actually converts the best, at least for me.

    You're asking the wrong question.

The question should be "Where does my targeted audience hangout?"

Do some research on how many likes videos in your market are getting on YouTube.

Search for forums in your niche and see how active they are.

Check for Sub-Reddit's people in your niche are active in.

What Facebook groups do they participate in? (If any..)

Once you figure out WHERE your target audience is, then you have answered your question.

Twitter is always a great way to get traffic but you need to post content that your target audience will enjoy engaging with.

Other ways to get traffic include

    1) Forums
    2) Web 2.0's- Tumblr, Pinterest,
    3) PDF & Slideshow Sites (I.E Slideshare.net)

about twitter , recently I noticed a weird thing...

on Facebook I don't much much decrease on likes
whereas on twitter daily the followers keep dropping , once a while few new followers follow me.

my contents should be OK as on Facebook Got subscribers like once a while share

i also posting the same contents on my twitter.

One thing I not sure is best to included image while tweet?
      or just short words?

because on twitter some claim is like a place for a short tweet aka just a short sentences , explanations

      no images.

If you are on the same niche then I suggest that you look into their followers and follow those you think that will most likely to be interested on your niche.

build up your website first. loads of videos articles and images that are keyword related.

then find where your niche audience hangs out. Pinterest, youtube, facebook, etc....

focus on one traffic source and build up that social channel.
