Hey all. I am about to get started with affiliate marketing very soon. I am trying to figure out if a website is nessary though, and if so, why? like for instance, if i am building a list, do i need a site? Or am I just driving traffic to the offers? I know affiliate marketing is one of the best ways to make money online, I just wanna do it right. Thanks .

You don't need a website. However having one means you can use a software like instabuilder to build optin pages for you visitors to opt into. If you have now website it may be hard to capture the leads. However I think Aweber and Get response have self hosted opt in forms. So in the end I would say it would be handy to have a website just incase especially when applying to cpa networks when they ask for a website!

I'd recommend having a site. You'll have something you own, something centralized, and something you can drive traffic to. You can have a site and still market in other ways too.

You need hosting not matter what. You don't want to be direct linking cpa/affiliate offers and you may want to build pre-sell pages, squeeze pages, etc... All my traffic is email driven and some of my domains have a site and some are just blank or redirect.

I would recommend having your own site, that way you can give a personal review which will hold more influence. You could have an opt-in form on your site while giving away something valuable.

From what I have heard from the really successful marketers is to have somewhere to pre-sell the offer first before sending the visitor straight to the sales page. Customers need to be warmed up and you can also build rapport with your customer.

    Hope this helps.

Think of having your own website as your online business card.

It also gives you more ways to drive traffic to your opt-in forms.

Well, you can get started already building your list and getting subscribers ASAP. Then, start working on a website. No need to wait till your website is ready to start promoting. It doesn't need to have a perfect launch, you just need to get started. And remember, Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither will your business. Start and keep growing.

You don't necessarily need a website however having a landing page where you can build your list is much better than simply making 1 sale.

While you don't technically need a website to do affiliate marketing, it is standard practice. The reason is because before most people buy something, they need to be "pre-sold" to or to have any lingering questions answered. Tests have proven that this greatly increases conversion rates (visits turning into sales). It's also common to have an opt-in form on your blog (to capture visitors names and e-mails, so that you can promote products to them down the line - second income stream for blog).

On the plus side, having your own domain name, hosting, and autoresponder (for e-mail marketing, how the opt-in form shows up on your blog) is relatively inexpensive, and the costs can be made up for in just a few sales. Blogs are also really easy to set up. Oh, I forgot to mention that a lot of sites that allow you to promote stuff as an affiliate (help you get traffic) don't just allow you to throw affiliate links here, there, and everywhere. It's considered spammy.

If you're serious about building a business online you need a website, their is no way around it. A simple squeeze page will do. Sure you can promote offers without a website you may make some sales, but that success is often short lived. What you really want to do is get web hosting, build a squeeze page, give away a freebie , and build a list of prospects that you can follow up with over time. Just imagine if you don't have one single website that you own. You'll never see that traffic ever again, your hard earned money that you paid for ads is money spent forever, and you'll find yourself doing everything the hard way. You can also build a list with aweber using their hosting.

You should definitely have a site and it's required to build a list yes. I use leadpages for building my pages and it works pretty good.
