Stealting from Competitors...

Hi Fellow Warriors, Is it ethically right to "steal" competitors K/W's, tags etc. Would a competitor be "fair game?" I am just curious how warriors feel about this! Thanks, Jon

I Think of it like baseball, everyone has a turn at bat swinging at the big keywords, some are better than others getting hits.(ranking and getting traffic from the keywords)... If you provide better value content/offer, then why not?

Keywords do not belong to anyone because it's you and I that decide how we search for something. Take this forum for example and the hundreds of ways to stumble across it-

    "Internet Marketing Forum"
    "Make Money Online"
    "Work from Home Marketing"
    "Affiliate Marketing Tools"

These keywords were derived from people typing it into search engines, Google and other companies tabulating that data and then providing it for everyone else to learn from. So you're not "stealing" from your competitors; you're just using their homework to get your site optimized faster. Just be sure to do your own keyword analysis as well though since search strings change over time and there's likely a good bit of low competition stuff that your competitors are missing.

    I hope that helped.

  • I wouldn't think of this as "stealing from competitors". It's simply research to find out what other sites in your niche are doing and frankly, you would be remiss if you did not do this.
