Perhaps if you are marketing to people in the make money online space who are interested in getting more traffic (especially if this more traffic is from traffic exchanges), interested in how to convert traffic that is coming from traffic exchanges, or who are surfing the exchanges for traffic credits and stumble across a catching landing page.

But as far as it being targeted for anything else, not so much.

You are on the best Internet Marketing traffic sources on the planet. The Warrior forum is truly one of my favorite traffic sources. You get to talk with your potential customers and they get to see who you are before they take any action. It makes for the most targeted traffic. That is only if you are in the IM niche. If in another niche I would join a niche specific blog and also do list building.

There are tons of traffic sources out there paid and non paid. If you want to spend some money solo ads would be a great way to build a list. Some non paid methods could be facebook, twitter, instagram, forums, and guest posting.

I would disagree that SEO is the best quality traffic. If you're converting via inbound techniques it can be, but in most cases we've witnessed, SEO traffic has actually converted over 50% worse than other less-saturated channels.

Based on my experience the highest quality traffic by FAR is viral in nature - user referrals coming from a value-driven WANT to invite others to collaborate, communicate, or share an experience is much higher-quality traffic across the board. Bribing users for referrals will not create this - this is a post PMF traffic source so be prepared to put your money where your mouth is on your product.

When it comes to affiliate marketing, I truly believe the best method is in email marketing to your list. However, since you are asking for direct traffic then I would reckon YouTube to be one of the best sources. Pinterest and Instagram are becoming quite popular as well. Hope this helps.

Viral traffic will drive the best traffic.

If you are talking about where can you purchase traffic from, I have used BuySellAds to purchase traffic. You have to make sure you research correctly on what site you want to place ads on to drive targeted traffic to your site, or else the wrong people will see your ads.

I also use JVZoo. It is a vendor/affiliate network. You can post a product that drives traffic, other people will promote it for you. This will not only drive traffic, but get you sales, and help build email lists.

Get good at creating video ads.
Post them on Facebook and Youtube.
Then if you're sending the traffic to your own sites, retarget the traffic.
If you're sending the traffic to a CPA offer or merchant, then try sending the traffic to a squeeze page first where you can get the emails to build your own list before redirecting them to the offer site.

that is the catch 22, most people are posting selfies, and talking about what they ate for breakfast on FB, they are not really buying. Always better to get them in the gate and on your list first.

We are finding FB <> VIDEO [with content / squeeze] is working well. But its alot of work to get the right combination. Most people are not willing to put the hard work in. And on the FB enviorment, everyone getting use to spam, so you have to stick out like bulldogs bawls there to really do well.

Plus you can play off current trends, like that idiot moron donald trump, we were able yesterday to take in $1034 USD in profits from a silly ad we put up. Comical trends, and stuff like that are really good to use on FB platform.

Product reviews with original content always make for the best form of traffic, reviews on facebook, Youtube or your own site can all have huge benefits and educated quality leads when trying to make sales.
