How to use twitter for growing business?

Dear fellow warriors,

Firstly, I am new to this forum and I have joined here to learn and to share new things in internet marketing, also, m interested in business networking.

Now then, I have heard so much about twitter and how it's going to help business to grow. However, I am not sure how to go about doing it ethically and without hurting anyone.

Here is my question:

Mindlessly following people and follow back will not fetch much result. It might drive traffic for some time but it will also lead to more bounce back and not necessarily to sales or conversion. Moreover, we have just started up so cannot compare to companies like dell either which has a brand identity all across the world. Also, when we say tweets about products regularly, does it mean I have to tweet everyday, irrespective of whether I have anything new to say or not. I am also confused as to how many tweets are acceptable especially for a company twitter account. Is there any twitter business model that I can follow that will really help my business grow?

Help!

Neeraj

Twitter is all about building relationships.."If you build it they will come" When you are using Twitter, it is all about building people who will follow you for what you say or what you will do.

Twitter is a way to stay connected to you target market and you customer base.

First off you must be connecting with the people who are in your target market. One great site is Twitter Search find those who are already talking about your current product line and create a relationship with them...Make sure that you are creating a conversation that is in line with what you what you want that target market to hear.

The goal with twitter is to constantly stay in contact, in real time with your customers..if they are not your customers yet..feed them the value of being your customers.

Also, look to other products that are in your niche and focus on those people...if you create the right value, they will be your customers and twitter will alow you to bring them back.

    Hi Neeraj,

    Welcome to the forum.

    Congratulations on finding us

    The situation is pretty simple.

You're not going to get great results with Twitter for your business without investing some time into focusing on it.

Many people think that everyone should be using Twitter - this is definitely not the case. It may not be the best way for you to spend your time and attention.

However, if you believe it is then take it seriously and focus on finding your target market.

Based on your comments it sounds like you have an electronics/computer business. This is a good thing because there are always things about using their technology that people want to know, so it would be easy for you to build a following of people if you were to be sharing helpful technology information.

When you do this, it's best to tweet several times a day so that you are communicating with people no matter what time-zone they're in. (many people forget about this and most of their tweets don't get read)

If you're constantly providing useful information and give your account proper attention and interact with others who comment on your tweets, people won't mind when you mention your products.

If you just use it with you and your products as the focus - you can get people to follow you but they won't buy.

    Hi Neeraj -

I was also confused about Twitter when I first started using it. I purchased several books but just wasted a lot of money. Then I found Joey Smith's Twitter Blockbuster Series. I signed up for $77 and still haven't finished absorbing or watching all there is to learn and it's been about a month since I purchased it.

He doesn't even have an affiliate program so this is not some plug to make money. It is simply the best Twitter info I've come across. The great thing is, he's a marketer too so the whole thing is based upon how to market with Twitter.

You learn all the tools you need and how to set them up. It will help you a great deal to promote your business on Twitter in the right way.

Here's the link: Twitter Block Buster Series - Leverage the Power!

    Hey Neeraj

Try twitter search to find out your target audience or observe other people(in your niche) what & how they are doing it !! Follow them.

Provide value to your tweets by giving away useful info and links- building relationship is the basis of every business. As Andy rightly pointed out the importance of tweeting at different times of the day. Twitter is time consuming, you need to spend lot of time and show your care.

Get my free eBook Twitter Mastery(link on signature-successcurrency), it has helped many and I am sure it will help you too. If you need any further help we are always here to help

P.S. You need to optin first to get the free eBook, you can unsubscribe after getting the eBook or for better.... can stay

    cheers

I think twitter is one of the many tools that you can use. you are not expected to solely rely on it to gain traffic, to conversions, sales etc.
So use twitter with a lot of other techniques, so basically, all you can do is build relationships with your followers and the ones you are following, and not just randomly adding a number of people a day.

Thank you all for the replies. The biggest challenge for me right now is getting the audience which can listen, learn, interact, and even give suggestion. Perhaps, patience is the key here.

      Cheers...

Twitter is a listening, learning and communication device. All marketers should be a part of it- now can it be used for brands? Only when still used by people- it never works to use it solely as a one way communicator. I love it - and have done more business through the relationships I have built with it than through other social networks I use combined.

From my experience, Twitter is best for announcements. If you have followers that are interested on your products and services, no need to send them useless twitts just to show that you are active in Twitter. Even sending them ocassionally announcements will generate traffic.

Hope all is well with your launch. You're gonna rock it.2:12 AM Apr 4th from web in reply to mariaandros"...he didn't even take the course...damn now that is some networking....why not...and while I am at it, I can just burn my money and be done with.

I can understand where your confusion comes in, just in case you don't understand the "relationship" (and the reason they iterate the exact same mantra), it is for the simple fact that they both were in attendance (as well as certain others) at the Eben Pagan get altitude seminar (I am a master of disguisey...become another parson). From the "superstar" reference, the outsourcing, the building foundations (just 3 examples) peppered throughout everything, as they both attempt to apply Eben's material, in a creatively interpretive way (for lack of a more...ummm...definitive term).

With the whole; I'll claim yours, you claim mine, and together we will visit the land of OZ in these pretty ruby slippers.....and when we bang them together and think about flying cows, we will be back in Kansas....with our little dog too.

Anyways, there was a blooding (don't recall the proper term actually), and the hole crew like shoe it, dave is, and car gone ill ah, all playin the Wiz Bang Of the O Z. Just don't go lookin too closely behind them their curt-ains, or use is gonna be in 4(-u) a big surprise.

          TheZone
          Creator of realities everywhere.

PS -I would like to share with you a letter from the *******.

Dear The Zone (notice how he calls me by my married name),

This is Barack Obahma (notice how he misspells his own name, only the real ********* would do that...so it don't show favoritism...see ...real). I really enjoyed your twitter course, and following your instructions I now have over 7.8 Million followers in just under 6 months (eat that AshTone), I have been tweeting like a mad man. As per your instructions, I created a "So you wanna be ********* Landing Page", and my sales copy has a 99.99999999999999% opt in (Putin didn't optin...that prick!..blued and screwed my metrics). I went from making $200 dollars a week (after taxes) working for the people, to making 12 digits a month online (hoping to reach the 13 digits a month you are doing). Soon I will be able to quit this job, and surf on the beach; Dood!!

Anyways I am so grateful, and now that I am a household name, others want you to teach them twitter. Like Vlad (who hopes to be back in power using your system), Noriega (that crazy guy) hopes you can show him how to get a celebrity like following and hopes to be free of the shackles that bind him. And last but not least ****** *********** who is the reincarnation of Ghandi.

          Barack Obahma
The ********* (count the dots and figure it out)

PPS -Okay, okay, so now you know. While I am planning Ghandistock for december 21, 2012 tickets will be extremely limited, if you go to ghandistock.com, there will be a list of dates that my chopper will be flying over your area. Just go out that day, and hold up your credit cards so my videographer can photograph them and add you to the waiting list (don't forget to show the backs, I need your CC verification codes too).

MaNestea! (that means "the ice tea within me honors the ice tea within you).

          I'm interacting....I definitely need sleep!

I haven't seen any claim from her that she's made a million through twitter.
