Response Testing Accuracy (Mobile Renegade)
It was my understanding that when selling a Mobile Website, one could first tell the owner(s) that their site is not responsive. To do this, one would use Mobile Renegade, a Response Simulator or browser add-ons from Google Chrome/Firefox to prove the point to the customer.
I went to responsify, am.i. responsive, the response program from Matt Kersey as well as the add-ons for Chrome and Firefox for a particular site. According to the feedback from these response testing areas, the site was not responsive.
I go to mention this to the owner - and - what do you know, it *is* responsive. So - I was confused, how could the tests say "no" and then when going to a mobile phone, you get a "yes".
That then made me have a question about the Mobile Renegade product. How does it check to see whether or not a site is responsive? There could exist a mobile site or a WP (or Drupal) site that is responsive because of a theme being used. It is my understanding the the program spits out "hundreds of qualified leads". With such a number, I cannot physically test them all.
At the same time, I would like to avoid looking incompetent in front of the customer (for obvious reasons)
So again, how accurate are these tests - would one say 30%, 50%, 80%, ???
The reason for my question is so I can tailor my message from "your site is not responsive" to "your site may not be responsive".
Thanks!
