that you can link to on facebook and play the video on facebook?

I was wondering, if I had my own video site, would there be a way to put a link to one of the videos and play it from facebook?

Do you want to host your videos on your own server or you just want to place them in another site? If you want to host your own videos on your own server you will need to register domain name for your site and get small VPS. Some VPS providers do support video streaming. That will allow you to control and manage your videos.

That's not really what i'm asking about. What I want to know is, can you stream your own video from your own video site directly through facebook, like you can do with a youtube video?

I think it works with all the video sharing website, we just need to place the link in facebook and it automatically get the video from its original location.

It happens to be the best and biggest video site. Most videos I see in Facebook are either custom videos or youtube videos.

I'd go with youtube for uploading my videos as well, I have used vimeo but virtually there's no competition between them!

None of you really understood what the OP is asking...
Maybe you should take the time to read the question before answering?

They didn't read the responses either, or would have realized that the correct answer was given in post #11

Facebook has got native video. You don't have to embed from other sites. Facebook has got a lot of potential for sharing of video content.

The video platforms I am aware of are:

    YouTube
    Vimeo
    Facebook
    Vessel
    Meerkat
    Periscope
    Riff
    Snapchat
    Vine

If you upload to you tube. You'll probably get higher click through rates as it has credibility.

So you should just upload there.
