Hi,

I want to start with content marketing and try to post regular to the blogs I want to start and to other sites like guest blogging.

The problem is that I can blog about a few things but I am not really that good in creating 5 or more articles a week or something like that.

How do you guys create content? Can you give me some tips on how to create blogs with great content?

  • Sounds like you could use a topic list. That is, a list of things to write about. You can get some great ideas by looking at FAQs that are related to your niche. Another way is by scouring the Table of Contents or Index pages of books. Tons of ideas in those things!!

  • I would start learning about everything and start applying as much as possible.... so you have experience...even if you don't have experience you can fake it till you make it... lol

Well actually I recommend you start actually doing what you are preaching.......

It took me a long time to figure it out but I finally can say..... I know a few things!

  • Creating content is easy. Dedicate 1 hour out of each day to write a 300 word article. Once you've mastered this, turn it into a 500-word article. Then take that article and promote it on your site and let your email subscribers know where they can read your articles/content.

Also, re-purpose your content. Turn it into powerpoint slides, spoken & modified Youtube videos, podcasts, emails, blog posts, etc. Don't let this be a road block for you.

  • Hi Stephen!

You can get some PLR articles related to your niche and read them to get some great ideas. You can get a huge library of plr articles at plrplr.com Or google "You niche" + plr articles.

Don't ever use them as it is. It will be a huge mistake.

Read through them and also do some additional research on that particular topic and re-write them if possible. When you have something to look at by side, it will be easier to get the completion than just writing from the top of your head.

Plus, you can always outsource! Use services like iwriter.com or fiverr.com to outsource content creation. When you get some quality articles from them you will get the inspiration to write your own.

    Cheers!
  • Get content ideas by reverse engineering your competitors

Step 1: Get a massive list of your direct competitors' blogs. If you don't know how to do this or don't have the time, get a VA to do this. A good list won't cost you more than a few bucks.

Step 2: Load the the competitors' blogs into Quicksprout. This will tell you which of their posts are the most popular.

Step 3: Come up with your own versions (ie., maybe they failed to address an important sub-topic that has a lot of demand_

Step 4: Use topsy to reverse engineer their content distibution patterns.

Step 5: Use ahrefs or majestic to reverse engineer their backlink footprints.

You can outsource all these for little money or you can do it yourself. What matters is you do it to maximize your content's reach.

I focus on LESS content (but sky-high quality) and MORE content promotion.

  • Just curious, did you write the articles in your WF blog from scratch? Or are they spun or PLR?
