Alibaba might be the biggest B2B platform but that doesn't make it the best.

Like on most other big B2B sites, the majority of suppliers listed as manufacturers are traders falsely pretending to be manufacturers. If they lie about that, do you think you can trust them?

There is a very good reason why you should buy from genuine manufacturers and not from traders. Just think for a moment...... Q. Where do traders buy their goods? A. From manufacturers. They then add a big margin and sell to you at inflated prices.

If you buy direct from the manufacturers, you get to bank that big margin as a bonus.

I have seen a lot of success on You Tube with DSD - Dropship Domination. They specialise in Amazon FBA so it's worth a look.

I'm not a member & have no affiliate connection.

      Cheers

I have not looked into DSD real closely but my understanding is the Dropship Domination is a business model of selling an item you do not own yet via ebay and then you have the order fulfilled from Amazon.

I see two big problems here. First a lot of items are cheaper on ebay so I expect it would be difficult to find any decent profit margins with the same item when getting it from Amazon. Second - the prices on Amazon can change at the drop of a hat so when it comes time to fulfill the order the price could now be too high but you have to place the order and ship to the customer anyway.

I regularly buy items on ebay and sell them via FBA for a good margin. A couple of times I bought ebay items and then received them from Amazon. Using camelcamelcamel I could see exactly what the seller paid and he loss money, sometimes a lot. I then sell that item on Amazon and make money.

I would start out small until you are familiar with running an FBA business. There are many sources of profitable products - buying wholesale, buying from manufacturers, online arbitrage, retail arbitrage, liquidation stores, yard sales, etc

I use camelcamelcamel as a tool to learn about the selling history of a specific item. I personally have not used Alibaba (and probably will not) as I have heard many warnings about them so be careful there.

Fulfillment houses typically charge for outrageous fees... and have "wholesale" products that cost less at the Walmart. I have no doubt that if you where to sell physical items on Amazon that you will make money. My only concern is:

    1) What is Amazon bans your account, and funds...

    2) You sell alot of products, but don't have the money to ship them all off. Amazon pays you every 2 weeks.

    3) Are you ready for the hard work of running an *offline* business? Alot of work.

Good luck with amazon. You're going to need alot of it when dealing with them.

You have to do your niche and product research for that, there are so many categories you can get started with, have you zero'ed in on any specific category yet?
