Does anyone have any experience with viral e-books?

I read something a while ago about making $7 e-books and spreading the word through e-mail.

Giving the authors 100% $7 for mailing your book to your list.

Do people here cut deals like that?

More info would be greatly appreciated.

I had a bad case of bronchitis once, but I was a kid. My mom took me to the doctor, didn't bother with an ebook.

But to take a serious stab at your question: as far as I'm aware there is a contingent of people who do use short reports in that price range as a loss leader to hopefully build a list. Look in the WSO forum, I think you'll see it a lot.

Create something of exceptional value: (Like 10X worth the price of the ebook.)

I plan on making the e-book free(if I actually go through with it).

It will be a way to promote the membership site I have reseller rights to.

But now that I think of it, it would be simply to create a stunning squeeze page a long with a compelling free offer....

Which would probably be a free membership site crammed with useful free material.

IDK how to go about this correctly... without screwing myself over 10x.

Cool. If you've read the book: "Influence: The Psychology Of Persuasion" you would understand the concept of reciprocity. That is, people will be more likely to respond to your offer if you give them something that is free (and of value) to begin with.

And while that's all good and true, the way I look at it is that if you're wanting to build a "relationship" with your leads (etc.) a great way to do that is to offer them massive value before you ask for the sale.

It's a tried and proven method. Instead of thinking what you can get, consider what you can give.

          Thanks..

My confidence in this arena is low though.

My experience level is far below that of an expert in this field.

What will I be able to provide that is different from all of the WSO's out there?

How would I even begin to do it?

The first thing that comes to mind is leveraging to experience/expertise of other people in your market. For instance you could create an ebook or audio product where you interview experts in your market. Failing that, if you offer enough value (when it's not necessarily your own information) you will be successful

I find quote number two stunning after reading that section of quote number one.

I thought you were the author.

I suspect you want other marketers to send to their list.

And you are letting them keep the entire $7.

              Did I interpret that correctly?

Now...Yes, people do those types of deals frequently through Joint Venture deals. They may not be highly interested in a $7 price point, though.

There is a Warrior Forum sub-forum for Joint Ventures. There also many other joint venture sites you can find to help you implement your idea.
