[Feedback wanted] Developing a tool for creating online competitions

I am finishing a website with online competitions. Even though the main purpose of this website is to offer some unique features to the users who participate in the competitions, the website also comes with a possibility for the marketers to create their own competition.

How it works:

Well, there already are some very good services offering solutions for marketers who use online competitions as a part of their marketing mix. I am not going to compete with them.

However, there is still a good reason why I offer the possibility to run a competition on my website - users are rewarded by credits for actions like entering a competition or adding a new one to the database. These credits can be used to "buy" additional entries to the premium competitions (premium competitions are those which are created using a tool on my website - so it is the reason why I need to offer such service).

What I would like to hear from you:

1. Right now if somebody wants to create a competition on my website, he has two options:
a) He can create a competition where people have to answer one or more questions.
b) He can ask the participants to do some action on any social network (like, follow, share, pin, etc.).

My question:
If you decided to run your own online competition, would be the two options mentioned above sufficient for you? If not, what other type of competition would you prefer?

2. The users' flow looks like that:
a) The user finds your competition on my website.
b) He clicks a link and enters your website - a page with rules and all information you want to tell the user.
c) Then he clicks a link on your website pointing to the competition entry form which is located on my website. The user needs to register (it is a simple registration) to enter the competition.

My question:
From your point of view, the user's registration on my website:
a) Is good because the registration requires to confirm his email. When you download the database of your competition participants you can be sure that 100% of the emails are working and belong to the competitor and not to somebody else.
b) Is bad - why?

Thanks for your opinions!
