Did Aweber Just CRASH?? - Problem - FYI everyone.

This problem's been going on for at least the last 24 hrs,
as we've been trying to create new lists, etc, and our
phone call to them yesterday they confirmed there
were problems.

I know for a fact, that our optins aren't showing up, neither
are our confirm messages.

So be careful if you're driving traffic to AW forms

    • HOLY S****

None of my opt-in forms are working right now...

      Oh for f*** sake
  • I see my forms right now...

But damn, that's still BAD news

    • I can see mine too.. but they're not able to deliver leads... try opting in to your own form

  • Hi all,

Yes, Aweber, and ALL the private labels are down.

This is incredibly frustrating as my very hefty ad spend in the last few hours has been wasted, and Ive lost about 300 optins.

The forms are not redirecting, so subscribers are just seeing an error page... hmm, just what I wanted!

They need to get their business together, and spend more time on servicing their clients, and less time on increasing the price.

    • Yo, guys...this is not the first time this has happened.

I've been on the phone with Aweber and they're having database problems.

They expect things to be sorted out soon so stay calm.

Hey, stuff happens. It's part of doing business. If everything worked
perfectly all the time we'd all be a bunch of spoiled children.

By tomorrow, this will just be a bad memory.

PS - I don't even want to tell you how much money I'VE lost today. Guess I'll go back into
      the recording studio

    • Yeah, this also happened a few weeks ago. I remember someone at the time suggesting that somebody should create a script that automatically kicks in when your AR goes down (collects the opt-in names and emails and stores them on your server), then automatically submit them to your AR as soon as it goes back online.

I think that is a GREAT idea. Any php developers looking for a good project? (HINT HINT :-) I bet that would sell big time.

  • I remember when Aweber was the cream of the crop.

    What's happened?

I've asked if they've changed ownership and they say "no".
    Any alternatives?

    Have you guys tried Icontact?
Are they significantly better? Or more of the same?

    Thanks

    • What great timing!

I'm expecting hundreds or even thousands of subscribers due to some promotions today. Why can't they just do it tomorrow or yesterday or any time, but not today!

    • Does EVERYBODY use Aweber? Seems like the more they raise the prices, the worse it gets
      Any alternatives out there?

  • my account showed 0 for 30 of my lists........ very scary....

    hope they come back
  • Yesterday I told myself that today the Aweber trouble would be just a bad memory.

But the nightmare continues into another day.

The forms do seem to be working but there's no confirmation messages being sent.
  • Haha I noticed mine showed 0 yesterday. My heart sank for a brief second.
  • supposedly everything is being queued... let's hope so

    • Well now I'm VERY worried...

I've got messages on my Aweber screen saying my credit card's expired, no reply address, etc etc, when everything is fine.

The worst bit is, every stat from my lists has GONE. So in a little over an hour, I've gone from around 28,000 sign ups over my lists, to ZERO.

God knows what's going on...maybe those guys in Geneva have made those atoms collide, creating a black hole that has sucked in all my sign ups?

    • By the time they got the confirmation message, they might either have forgotten about it or their interest has already waned.

Anyway, a decrease in subscribers is still better than no subscribers at all.

  • Back up. Bit of pruning done by the looks of it.
  • its back

    • Pheww...

      Got my lists back!

Still not functional tho'...forms are working but no confirmation going out or be added list data.

  • Aweber has had issues with confirmation emails not being sent for upto 48 hours, according to my own tests.

I know Get Response had issues similar to what Aweber is going through now but GR was still tracking everything and when they fixed the issues the signups showed up where they were suppose to.

If Aweber is setup in similar way then your signups should all be tracked even though they are not showing up. I do NOT have an aweber account and only use them through partners or clients so my knowledge of aweber is limited. I know GR though and they have their systems setup to deal with all these type of issues and redundancy. I can't believe that Aweber wouldn't have the same type of processes setup for their service BUT I do not know for certain one way or the other on that.

  • Looks like the broadcast went through just fine, but there are 0 clicks. Which is not normal. It said something about the link not being valid, but I chose to include it anyway as it always worked before.

I'm really glad I didn't go with their more expensive plan yet.

  • I had to verify double optin and the frequency that I kept in contact with the list. I also had to show screen shot of the complaint level I had which was pretty much zero.

  • Just to be absolutely clear here, no opt-ins are being lost. All data is still
being collected and entered into the system. There is a backlog due to
some other issues that is being resolved and caught up on. I appreciate
everyones understanding and patience. Our team here is working to get
    things resolved expeditiously.

    • Still can't login to Aweber, all the feeburner style widgets show 0 subscribers.

They have never been down for this long before, ever, I strongly suspect "System Maintenance" is code for "Something's Screwed & We Are Working Around the Clock To Fix It".

They would have announced system maintenance / down time.
