Are we allowed to promote WSOs OUTSIDE of the Warrior Forum?

I've actually seen WSOs advertised on several other internet marketing forums, but that doesn't mean it's allowed. Shockingly, sometimes people do things that violate the terms fo the WF.

I couldn't find anything here that told me one way or the other so I wanted to check - am I allowed to advertise a WSO outside of this forum and if so, are there any particular limitations?

I'd like to know the answer to this too. I always let me lists know when I have a WSO running, because many if not most of them are Warriors - or they are after I'm done with them. lol

But I don't see it as a bad thing personally. You're pointing them to the forum and they'll hopefully join up for participation here and invest in MORE WSOs!

It's called WARRIOR special offer, so I don't think it would make any sense to the admins to enable you to promote your product elsewhere.

It would make sense if you have to become a warrior to purchase a WSO. If everyone advertised their WSO on other forums and you had to be a warrior to get the deal- this would increase the amount of members this forum has. I think increasing the amount of members on the forum is a good thing.

That's what I think - it would steer more members to this forum. But there could be some reason that I don't know about why it would not be all right. If I get any official word I will let you guys know!

I send to my list of Warriors link to WSO and if post product to other places it's always more expensive then here.

I think the rules are clear: you're not allowed to promote your WSO anywhere, except to your list. You cannot sell your WSO at the same price (or better) at the same time.

If you would be allowed to post links to your WSO over the internet that rule would have no sense.

The rule states that the offer has to be a special price for Warriors. It doesn't say anything about where you can promote it.

The rule doesn't say where you can promote a just-for-warriors offer? Are you kidding?

One thing should be clarified also here.

You do not have to be registered at the WF to buy a WSO if the payment process is publicly accessible in the WSO.

I am not saying you shouldn't be... I am just saying the WSO forum is public. (Just logged out to be sure.)

You can promote the same offer to your lists.

You can promote in other places with the same or similar sales copy... as long as the offer is not as good.

Can you post links to your WSO other places on the Internet?

Seems borderline. If the WSO forum required registration, then the answer might lean more toward yes. Because it does not... the answer seems a little more unclear.

Regardless, it isn't up to us.

I will say when I see the same exact offer on other forums... it ticks me off. When I see someone say, "I have a WSO going here:" and link to the WSO forum... it doesn't seem to bother me as much.

Would you expect that a promotion exclusive to Weight Watchers members only be made at Weight Watchers meetings? Or would you agree that it might also be beneficial to Weight Watchers if they made the offer at local donut shops with the caveat that you have to sign up for Weight Watchers to take advantage of the special price?

I'm talking about promotion (redirection of traffic), not making the same offer at other places. How does this forum not benefit by directing people to come here and sign up in order to take advantage of a special deal???

The rule speaks to the price charged in relation to the price you charge the general public. If you're not extending the offer to anyone who doesn't sign up at the forum, then what's the beef?

That's the way I read it anyway. If I was in charge (clearly I'm not) I wouldn't stop people from encouraging others to sign up at WF. The ONLY reason I could see for disallowing it completely is because policing it could become a bigger headache than any benefit from additional members. And I'll admit, that would be a pretty strong case for not allowing it. Regardless, it appears this question was answered in the old forum and it is NOT allowed.

If you're making them buy through the WSO forum, I don't see why it would be a bad thing. Cuz to buy in the WSO forum they have to be Warriors.

But if you point people to a domain where your special WSO offer takes place, that's a no-no. Unless of course you're just sending that to your house list.

But if you're advertising your WSO to the general public, you had better make sure they have to become a Warrior before purchasing. Otherwise, you're acting with the integrity of a common criminal and Karma will jump up and bite you in the ass eventually.

    Hi Dana,

While I can't give you a definitive answer, I can say two things:

    1) you can promote a WSO to your list(s);
    2) when another member was caught promoting his WSO on another forum, his WSO was deleted and his posting privileges were suspended.

I hope this helps - good luck with your WSO.

What I would like to do - but I won't if it's not allowed - is just steer people directly to the WSo itself - as in, put a link to the WSO URL.

Heck, I'll dm Allen and see if I can get through to the cigar-smoking monkey God himself for the official answer.

If you post on other forums, but keep the special price only on the WF, I think it'd be acceptable. After all, the point of a WSO is to give the best price possible that is not available to the public, so if that condition is met, there shouldn't be any problems with advertising your WSO at a higher price elsewhere.

I just looked over the WSO rules AGAIN and don't see anything, so I sent in a support ticket asking if it is permitted.

I completely understand that the WSOs have to be at a special price or offering some kind of special deal. I was just hoping it would be okay to go elsewhere and steer people to my WSOs - not to offer the product at the same WSO price outside the forum. I understand that not everyone may think that there is a distinction.

We'll see what kind of answer I get!

Well, if you would steer people elsewhere and steer people to the WSO, how would that be a "Warrior Special"? The spirit of a WSO is to provide a better deal for your fellow Warriors, not to promote a Warrior Forum.

I knew I'd seen a definitive answer on this some time ago so searched the old forum. Here is the answer given by Michael Tracey, Forum Administrator...posted Jan 18 of this year.

a WSO may be offered to your list but it cannot be offered at a price lower than the WSO price.

BTW... Posting a WSO on another forum will lead to immediate deletion of the WSO

The rule has always been you are only allowed to give the same offer to your own personal list. You are not allowed to post the WSO on any other forum.

Yes you will see people doing this, but the people who do this are the people who push the boundries and try to game the system. Posting about your WSO's on other forums has never been allowed.

It's actually kinda a mute point though as far as posting it anywhere else...They seem to be indexed by google heavily with the new forum.
So technically...work on keywords in your WSO and you will be promoting it everywhere anyway in theory...

Yeah, I had thought about that also. The whole WF used to be "private" anyway, but with it being public... WSOs being promoted elsewhere by linking here seems like more of a non-issue to me.

Now, who is going to contact Google and tell them to stop promoting WSOs?!

When an Administrator here has said it's not acceptable, that isn't a moot point. You cannot promote the WF price elsewhere (rule #2) - and by posting the link to the WSO when advertising in other forums, that's what you are doing.

If google ranks your thread highly and people find it and buy - that's a plus.

          Hi all,

I can certainly see why there is some confusion, because although I've never advertise my WSOs on other forums I didn't think it was against the rules.

I was well aware of the rule Kay quotes, however, my interpretation of it was, (apparently an erroneous interpretation) you couldn't have your product (WSO) on another forum for the same price or lower. Not that you couldn't say on another forum "hey, check out my WSO," with a link to it.

I know for a fact that members on other forums have made posts like this, "Check out so and so's WSO." Not their own WSOs but so and so's (another warrior)

Also I know for a fact that some private forums where you need to pay and have to use a password to get in, talk about WSOs, Review them and link to them as well. Some private forums have sections dedicated to WSOs.

All of the above contributed to my confusion, unless my interpretation of the rule quoted by Kay is correct.

It would be interesting for Admin to jump in and clarify this.
