Finally, I got influenced by _____ and venturing into Internet Marketing!

Hi Warrior,

I'm Jessny Tan from Malaysia, influenced by my BF (finally!) to venture into Internet Marketing arena.

He has told me every possible opportunity to make money online including product creation, affiliate marketing, bum marketing, and ghostwriting. However, none of above interest me, until he told me that I can make money online by providing graphics service to IMer.

Frankly speaking, I'm not good in graphic design but I've passion on that and I've started to learn how to use Photoshop since 2 weeks ago.

Here are the five mini site designs that I've just produced few days ago and I'd like to receive some *honest* comment regarding my graphics.

1. http://www.freedomchallengesale.com/temp/mini1.jpg
2. http://www.freedomchallengesale.com/temp/mini2.jpg
3. http://www.freedomchallengesale.com/temp/mini3.jpg
4. http://www.freedomchallengesale.com/temp/mini4.jpg
5. http://www.freedomchallengesale.com/temp/mini5.jpg

Thanks for reading my thread and I really hope I could get some feedback and comment on this

And don't forget to tell me where I'm doing wrong and how can I improve it...

Regards,
Jessny.

    Now, you asked for it...

as a professional designer, I have to tell you that...

They look great. I'm very impressed, especially as you say that you've not been doing it for long. I'd even go so far as to say you could make money selling templates or designing for a fee.

My advice would be to study the style of any other designers you admire and learn to emulate lots of different styles. But I have to say that you're definitely on the right track.

Thanks! I really appreciate your comment and feedback. I'll keep on improving it. But as you mention, to start charging a fee, I don't have that kind of confidence yet.

        Hi Jessny,

there's only one way to get confidence... and that's to go for it.

The absolute worst that could happen is you have to make amendments or give a refund...

Either way, you show yourself to be a professional by offering great customer service.

        Good luck.

I look forward to the competition

        Kindest regards,
        Karl.

    I have one question here...

I'm not good in color matching or which colors to use to design a mini site. Any recommendation?

And is there any 'right' or 'wrong' color? Got such thing?

Most of all go with what you think looks good together.
Your client will usually tell you (or ask them) what colours they prefer.

There are also some colour schemers online:

      kuler
      [ws] Color Scheme Generator 2
ColorSchemer - Online Color Scheme Generator

There are three to get you started.

Mostly it comes from experience... my favourite colour to design with is blue, but that's personal preference. Some people hate it.

I'm glad you chose to go for it.

      Kindest regards,
      Karl.

              Awesome Jessny,

Photoshopping is one thing that people end up just buying books, watching videos and, in general, getting absolutely nothing done. Mega MEGA kudos to you for just getting it going.

The only piece of criticism that I can offer is that your sites are a bit neony for my taste. That could be a personal preference I guess but having gone to a bunch of websites because of what I do that just doesn't seem to be the style that most people are wanting.

What I would do is check out a TON of IM minisites and even take notes of what color schemes you see. Write them down, compile a database and then you will absolutely know what most people like.

Good luck on this...With your attitude you will go far I believe.

The templates do look interesting - They are not 100% what I would go for but you are definitely on the right track and your skills do show - cant wait to see what your stuff will look like in a couple of months.

I like the Clean style better - corporate type, or even creative but very clean looking...that just my personal taste but if your going to do this its a good idea to add your service site to your signature so others can follow it to your site and see what you have to offer, perhaps even book mark it for future reference..... Good Luck on your new Venture!!!! if you stick to it - it will be great!
