Youtube Video Marketing Worth it ?

Hi guys,

If you're an affiliate marketer , do you use video marketing ?

I'm own a couple of affiliate websites, and most of my content is written content, I was wondering if video marketing on youtube to my affiliate offers is worth it.

And how do you do it ? Do you have a link in the youtube video description going to your affiliate website, or do you have a direct link to the affiliate offer ?

What was the hardest part of making videos for you ?

  • I can't answer if it is worth it, but to do it, get an Google adwords account and optionally an adsense account, and a YouTube account. Upload your video ad to YouTube and create your ad with the video ad you uploaded to YouTube in adwords. I recommend you YouTube search the subject. There are many videos to show you how.

ive never done it personally, but tried a few times. Ive read several blogs where the owner did youtube advertising and it was a major source of traffic for them. Of course each website is different, so make sure and evaluate your own. The hardest part for me would be to video myself.

Hi I use video marketing for my list building. Affiliate marketing is one of my income streams.

I post different videos like review videos, tutorial videos etc on YouTube. I use links to my sqz pages in description but get most of the clicks from annotations which directly send visitors to landing pages.

Never send visitors to affiliate links directly from videos as your YouTube account will be in trouble. Moreover , people can also flag your videos for using affiliate links without any disclaimers.

You can find the answer to your question very easily.

Go to YouTube. Search for reviews of a product you are promoting.

Look for longer, more professional looking videos.

Check their descriptions and see if they are linking to their website. Click through to their websites and see how they are promoting.

You DO NOT want to use the affiliate link. That will likely get your video banned quickly. You DO want to link to your website and go to a review of the product and have an opt-in from to start building an email list.

Some people are doing very well from it. I think you need to be a prolific video maker though. I'm sure successful people create tons to get a winner.

I've seen a few good looking products launched on JVZoo recently from successful video marketers. I've just recorded a couple of review products my self this month but have seen little results so far.

    Good luck :-)

I think it has a lot to do with the niche you're in and the actual product you're promoting. I've seen a lot of people create videos that add absolutely no value and don't make the potential person want to click their link to check out the product (the whole point), so they basically just wasted their time. If you're in like the fashion, cooking, electronics niches (or anything that can be demonstrated), I say go for it.

It can work like anything else can work if you commit yourself to doing better than the average joe and stick with it. Try to give some extra value that the other guys are not.

Han Fan and Mike From Maine do interviews with Internet Marketers, for example, and they've been doing it awhile now. Their videos don't get a lot of views individually, but collectively yes, and they've built up a little following that earns them affiliate commissions.

You can do tutorials that provide good resources - mix it up with free resources and paid-for resources. Do reviews that are honest, even if it turns out you won't make money because the product you are reviewing sucks and you tell everyone it sucks.

Be different. Do better. Do more. And learn and improve as you go...

That is a good idea as marketing idea, but at the same time you need to understand how important that to have interesting and eye catching video. There are a lot of new videos apper every day on the Youtube and only a few of them worth to be seen. I want to say that could be really hard for you to create such videos by yourself and as result that could cause huge spendings for you in your advertising budget.

You can start out using a simple informative/product review video. If you are unsure on how to make one just search for similar videos to get guidance on what you should be doing.

But just make sure you don't do the taboo and place your affiliate link directly into the video. Chances are you video will get flagged and Youtube will have your account taken down. Indirect links like a blog page will help keep things looking more subtle as you try to direct your buyer to the affiliate link.

It works great in some niches, and in others, it's average. But it's definitely worth it. As with any marketing piece (even "phone-pole marketing")..... lead them to your free offer page, and then work the email marketing funnel as usual.

I tried making basic videos , just me talking to the camera , nothing too salesy. Linked to my website in the description. The results weren't spectacular but I did see some traffic.
One day I got an email from Google saying my YouTube account had been closed permanently. All it takes is one disgruntled competitor and its all over.
    Back up your videos!

Thanks guys for all the tips and strategies. What I'm gathering is that affiliate marketing with youtube is a bit tough, and it's more of a brand time endeavour. Similar to google adwords, you don't want to have direct affiliate links in the video, are you guys talking about the video description or the annotations ?

What do you guys think of hiring actors on fiverr to do video reviews of health products ? Is that a good idea ?
