About Fiverr for Links

Hi Guys

I'm not ignorant about this myself but I felt after receiving a number of emails from newbies about buying Fiverr gigs for Links, something needed to be said.

Now I am not bringing Fiverr down as I have had some really good gigs that helped me a lot in the past. But unfortunately like everywhere on the net, there are shady people around that will make offers that will only harm your SEO efforts.

What I am hoping for here is not a witch hunt but clear guidelines of what to steer clear of and what can do the most harm to a website, particularly Link building.

For a start, I believe that buying gigs for $5 offering hundreds of quality .edu links is well shady?

What's your input on this subject?

    Any linkbuilding for $5 is shady. That's pretty much the rule to abide by.

    AFTER you place an order, ask for the domain that will link to you

    Do a PA/DA check using mozbar

    Also, check the domain using ahrefs

    You should be able to see if the site is spammed to bits or if you're dealing with a legit site

    If the site is spammy, don't hesitate to ask to cancel the order.

    There ARE some good link deals on Fiverr. Just make sure you do your due diligence.

      Agreed. Just because stuff is cheap, does not mean it is bad, not useful.

      Anyone who expects to improve page rank by building links on the cheap is in for a disappointment. If you want to get rank and visitors do this
      • Have original high quality content
      • Keep addiing new content
      • Work the social media
      • Make sure your site is responsive
      • Make sure that it is behind SSL
      • Provide relevant titles and descriptions
      • Avoid pointless repetition of "keywords" in the hope of hoodwinking the search engines
      • Have a wide range of searchable content - images, text, downloadable resources...
      • Forget EDU links - they have little relevance today
      • Focus on link quality not quantity
      • Be patient & don't give up because you don't hit 1000 visitors a day on Day 2

    Of course it is. People fall for it because they don't know better or they fool themselves and, hey, it's only $5!

    Well, you get what you pay for. $5 will get you an automated submission to already spammed or abandoned sites and won't do your site any good.

      Yes, Fiverr has given me some headaches. Recently I used Fiverr to get some social media promotion for my fundraiser. What I've learned is that many of these sellers just set up what you might call feeder pages - blogs or Facebook pages that appear to only contain crowdfunding posts from their Fiverr clients! This was pretty sad and discouraging - but hey, Live and Learn, right?

      One seller in particular makes the gig sound impressive by mentioning his "charity blog." The overall feedback is good because he's technically fulfilling the sales description. But if you dig further, there are a number of clients who mention the nature of the posts and why they were disappointed. The seller simply reiterates the policy that no funding is guaranteed, but that you supposedly stand a better chance of being seen by the right audience.

      On the other happened, I had a good experience with one seller who posted comments from several different Facebook accounts. The comments looked legit and highly targeted to my topic.

      As for SEO, I always assumed that it would be worthless or even detrimental, but I'm interested to hear what others have to say.

      No kidding. It baffles me how so many people flock to these Fiverr sellers who say they can give you THOUSANDS of "HIGH QUALITY" backlinks and that it's all "100% MANUAL WORK".

    I've used some of the 'actors' to create some videos for me, when I'm short of time. I've had varying success.

    I tried to get some traffic by sending out some adverts through people's social media. But although their accounts are MASSIVE they're dead and a waste of time.

    I have some videos made up, they're pretty good. The voice overs are ok too. And of course some cheap ebook covers.

    Like most people I stay away from link building, It can do more damage than good.

      I agree with you. I used Fiverr for guest post, but I need to check every domain, some of them are useless. Now with build links or traffic, we can use video submission or PDF submission services.
