How to make money on the Internet when you have no money to invest

Hello, I read there are 2 -3 days on a blog comments from people who want to start on the Internet and make money ...

The major reason is that these people give as a barrier to success is the lack of money. I think it's a mistake.

I believe it is possible to start and win gradually more and more money even if initially it was just a computer and Internet access.

Imagine that this is your case ...

You can start and have your first websites in pay or a domain name or accommodation. And that's what you need to start, right?

So frankly ,no money is not the main obstacle to success! You can start with either borrow a few dollars to a friend or family if you really want to have a domain name and a hosting (20 dollar should be enough to start) Or if you do not want to borrow there are free blog services that will the case there I think http://www.blogger.com or https://en.wordpress.com but there are certainly others, you know?

Then we can talk strategies to start making money ...

Regards

Nowadays, it's harder to start with no money at all in comparison to years ago. Also, I don't think the free version of Wordpress allows you to put affiliate links on its site. You have to purchase a domain name and hosting and install WP using a plugin from within your control panel.

I started my online business without investing a penny but it was difficult. Eventually I had to spend money for hosting, traffic and so on.

I feel you on this post, its all in the mind, granted it is easier if you have money. Your best bet if you got to cheddar is to network and be around people that are doing well and you will attract capital.

if you do not know what you are doing, it does not matter much how much money you have to get started, you will waste it all without any returns.

If you do know what you are doing, it does not matter if you have money to begin with, you will succeed anyway!

I agree.

It's not the capital you start out with but the PLAN.

You have to WORK your plan and your plan has to generate ROI in an efficient manner.

When you start out - think about where you want to get to in a few years time and the procedures/strategies you'll put in place.

If you don;t want to be doing all the hard work in a few years time - then you have to think of how you will scale your business.

Can you eventually employ a freelancer to do the jobs - think about this from the start - otherwise it will become an ongoing daily grind.

I learnt the hard way by not realising how to scale my business from the start but now put these tactics into place.

Good luck.

One method I recommend is , if you dont have any money to invest, then its best to choose your desired affiliate network. Pick an offer relate to your niche. Get on youtube and make product reviews for each product you find. Once done, change the format of each video, and to be safe, you can do a bit of editting in the beggining to lengthen the video. Once done, reupload these videos on separate channels using different keywords. This is all free, but the whole point is to rank product reviews (or article reviews) and gain traffic to your affiliate links. This is one out of MANY free methods to make money online. Hope this helps

I am not saying it's impossible, but I will say this, it'd be an uphill battle to start making anything significant without having anything to invest, you can go scrapping by with that but that wouldn't replace your job, you know what I am sayin'?

Well, nowadays you can get a domain and hosting for $5 combined..Thats not even constituted as spending money..I mean if youhave an internet connection, I'm sure you have $5 to spend ($2 for a domain at Godaddy & $3 hosting if you look around for some entry level specials)

BUT...The first money I made was through Arbitrage...I noticed a lot of warriors asking for a service that not many were providing and I went and found a couple suppliers of this service and played middleman and pocketed the difference

Either way, money will definitely expedite the process!!

• It's certainly possible. The first money I made on the internet didn't cost a penny to make.

There are a couple of key points though. Making money with no money is possible. Making money with no work is impossible. One is kind of related to the other. IF you have money you can pay someone to do the work. If you have no money, you can build something that will bring money in but you will have to work at it. You will have to build it from scratch and to give yourself that edge that brings in the money you'll probably have to do some extra work so that it doesn't look cheap.

One way I did it was to write a review of a fast attack product on blogger that I had become an affiliate for. I really went to town on writing a high quality review. Messed about with the blogger layout etc, I did it early on in the launch and made myself a nice few dollars in the process.

The other thing I would say, is don't rely on it. It's vital that you treat it as a stepping stone. It's just a tactic on the way to something else. The work required can be out of proportion to the reward in internet marketing terms.

The money you make from your free work should have an exit plan. One to build your foundations in internet marketing. Think in terms of business and look upon it as your seed money. Your first few dollars should be aimed at getting the following:

A domain name
2-3 months of a hosting package- to give you some time to build your website and drive traffic
Auto responder - if your money doesn't yet stretch to this then you need to be developing seed money for this in your early activity as well as covering your existing costs.

If you have no money to invest in your start then you need to have knowledge. In my opinion now the easiest way to get started is social network. Create there public page related to the niche - develop that and try to earn on affiliates.

It's pretty simple...

Trading your TIME against MONEY like elance, oDesk, freelancer and other freelancing plattforms if you have some skills

If you don't have any skills (which is literally impossible :O ) then I would suggest you taking some surveys or stuff like that.

I would not recommend telling someone out there which wants a real business on the internet to do this stuff. But he could do it for a while to make some cash for his business investments... Then building and eMail Marketing business, information product business, CPA business, Aff Marketing business, and so on...

Look, most of the time it is a catch 22.

If you don't have money to invest, then:
a) You actually don't have money to invest.
b) You invest money in crap.
c) You have really poor work ethic and you don't work to actually get money.

When I see the question "how can I get started with no money", I know that 90% of all people will give up within one week. They are the equivalent of those at the gym who want to grow big but are not willing to work hard and be consistent.

While there are exceptions, if someone is willing to put the 50 - 60 - 70 hours a week to make an online business take off ... then they are very likely to work in their "offline" occupation too. If they want to excel here, the excelled there, no matter if they work in an office or serve coffee.

So the question is not "how to get started with no money" but what does this question says about the person at hand. Again, there are exceptions.

However, from my experience, I've tried to help a few people. One of them bragged that he works hard, he is willing to do anything, he studies, etc but he's broke and he needs to get some income like yesterday.

So I've refered him to someone who gave him a job, remote job, with payment and everything.

Guess what?

He blew it off. His skills were theoretical at best but even for basic tasks he procrastinated, got them wrong, etc. After a few weeks, he let him go, not because he did not had potential, he had, he was very good read ... but because he was extremely lazy.

So even if this will NOT be a popular post, think about it.

I agree with you! We are living in the microwave age, where there are instant popcorn, instant meals and instant coffees. If only there was instant success in your business online and offline.

It takes time to learn the skills that makes you competent to manage and grow your business online & offline. There is no instant wisdom for this.

Wisdom comes with experience from lots of research and testing. Because it takes time to research and test content to create your first product or service, 90% of people will never get started, and they never reach their goals in life ever.

That's the reason only 1% of the entire world population will retire wealthy and 99% of people will die poor. Which one are you?

There is no such thing as a free lunch in the real world.

Additonally, when you do get something for free - it is generally worth nothing.

I agree with you there Frank. Our time is money, so you are right nothing is free, but it is possible to make money online with a domain name and blog.

What I posted above certainly would not make you rich, but it would create money's to invest and grow.

I know sticking to that strategy would make enough money to join a program I know of that does make good money.

Nobody gets rich overnight in any business which is what most people looking to make money online forget.

It is a business just like a brick and mortar business and you start in the same way working consistently, sticking to a plan, working hard, sticking with it and reinvesting in your business with essential tools of the trade like an Autoresponder for example and books to learn.

I believe many give up on internet marketing because they enter with the get rich overnight mentality. We both know that doesn't happen and because we know this, we stick at it and see success.

When i was earning money from Adsense, the Adwords team would always send me a $100 gift credit card in the mail to sign up and promote my site on Adwords. I used this free gift to launch my site. At one point ArticlesBase was doing the same thing.

But if you don't have any money, then there are other things that you can do.

But seriously, if you don't have any money, then get some. Go get a job. See if you can get a business loan (or business credit card as some loan officers will laugh at you). Raise money fast in the most sensible means possible.

Hi there,

This would be my strategy knowing what I know now......

You borrow that few quid from your mate and buy a domain name which would be your fullname.com and buy hosting and install a WordPress blog.

You start writing blog posts about the journey your are starting with X amount of money. You would write as many blog posts a week as possible and try be consistent releasing your blog posts on the same days, so that your readers get used to the days you post and look forward to reading how your journey is progressing.

On you Blog you will have a video page and you will start a YouTube channel again taking to your audience which will grow the more videos you do on a consistent basis which then helps with ranking in YouTube.

You will embed you videos on your video page on your blog for the people who prefer to watch video rather than read text.

You then connect your YouTube channel to your blog which will help in getting traffic to your blog.

Obviously, you will visit forums offering advice and helping people which again in time will help get visitors to your blog.

You can set yourself challenges and let your readers know like 1 blog post a day for a month and create a buzz around the challenge on YouTube and of course Facebook.

You place banner ads on your blog and start generating revenue.

You start having adverts placed on your YouTube videos because you have created a following regularly posting a 2 minute video a day.

Join Slideshare a free Authority site and make interesting slides using powerpoint that connect with peoples emotions and again create a page on your blog where you connect to the site adding the slides to your blog also.

For optins you can write an eBook on how you intend to make money online from $20. You then put a small price on the eBook add it to Amazon and other forums and stipulate all costs go to charity which encourages more people to buy which also helps with promoting and marketing.

You of course add some affiliate links in the eBook again to generate income.

I hope this helps anyone with little money slowly start to build an income. There are lots of other ways you can generate traffic or ways you can add affiliate links which will get clicked on and earn you money.

Good Luck

To our mutual successes!

There are several ways to raise the $100 or so you need to make a reasonable start with your online business.

1) Sell some crap. Pardon my language, but everyone has stuff they don't need sitting around that's worth a few bucks on Craigslist. Considering the funds you raise will be used to secure a lifetime of financial freedom (NOT to fund a weekend party, right?!?), it's worth dumping your vinyl, that motorcycle you don't ride, or even your precious baseball cards. Reallocate some resources.

2) Cut your spending. Let's see, $5 a day on lattes, times 30... you get the idea. We all have leaks somewhere is the monthly budget. What, you don't have a budget?? Well then, you don't even know how much you waste each month. I'll bet it's enough to fund a domain registration and hosting deal, email solution, CL poster, or whatever your business plan calls for. What, you don't have a business plan?

3) Max out. Look, debt is bad, m'kay? Except when it funds financial expansion... then it's called leverage. Find ways to leverage your existing credit (you can probably get another card somewhere), or if you're already at the limit of available credit, redeploy some assets. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT use credit for any consumables of any kind... if you can't pay cash, don't buy it. Do use your credit to grow a life of financial independence and lifestyle freedom.

4) Earn more. Others have already suggested this, but here's a few simple ideas.
* Advertise a dog-walking or pet-sitting service in your neighborhood. I made $200 doing this over the weekend of the 4th. Guess where that money is going?

* Do temp work for a week or so, around your regular work schedule if you have one, to raise the cash you need. It's not forever, just for a week or whatever, and when you're done, buy that application you (think you) need for your site.

* Offer to haul away unwanted books, then sell the ones you can online. Lots of folks want to get rid of their late grandfather's collection and don't want to hassle with the hard work of packing and moving books. I recently earned $600 (in take-what-you-want books) over the course of a month helping a friend pack his stepdad's library for donation to a local college.

Oh, there's more you can do, lots more. These are just started ideas. Bottom line: lack of money is a self-imposed limitation. Stop making excuses and take action toward your goals. Soon you'll have that online business you're just dreaming about today.

• This is a true story. 1998 my mom gave me a computer. It was a 486x Compaq. At that time I was selling merchant accounts business to business in the asphalt jungle. I was struggling, but because of commission and the residual potential I was determined.

I got an Internet access account. We had 28k and then 56k dialup in those days. I got on the Internet and was surfing and seen a banner for Card Services International. I saw they were selling the same thing I was, except on the Internet. I just had to figure out how they did that.

At this point the desire to figure out how they did that consumed me. I learned how to build a website with Netscape (sort of). It was gawd awful. It had an emerald green water background like the ocean, big yellow text headings, and a blinking mailbox. Free host but I bought a domain name. They were $75 each year back then. Thankfully I didn't quit my day job. I had no money and everything I did on the free or dirt cheap

Almost one year to the day I made my first sale from that site. That sale was worth $1600 to me. Once that happened, I never looked back.

I proceeded to learn about how to properly make a business website and learned such things as have a white background and black text. I bought a web building program that was popular back then called FrontPage and learned how to use it, I learned about FTP, scripts and more.

I learned about search engines. Alta Vista and Excite were the 2 big ones then. I managed to rank well in Excite for a short period of time with the term "Merchant Accounts". First result on the first page. I was doing 6 or 7 deals a week after that.

I finally said to hell with being an agent for another agent and went direct with the processors, authorize.net and the leasing companies.

The end result of that was in 2007 I retired from that business and enjoyed life and still receive residual income from those accounts to this very day. At least the ones that are left

The Internet landscape is completely different now than it was then. Back then it was the Wild Wild West and the Warriors were a group of spammers that hung out and discussed spamming I bet a lot of you guys didn't know that.

The basics remain the same. Learning never ends..

You need two things time and money.
If you dont have the money then hopefully you do have time.
So that is your biggest asset ,use it.
Set goals and make sure you take massive action
Focus
Believe you can and you will.
you have probably heard those phrases before but thats because they are true.
I was broke once I became a millionaire then went bust again and now im amassing wealth again
so believe me I have been there.
Just go for it 110% effort is all thats required.

A lot has been said here. I just really wanted add that even if you have money to spend, doing so when you are just starting out is not always a good idea. Most likely you are going to lose money because you paid for something that was not worth the money you paid for. The other problem is that some people have money to spend but they don't want to do any work so they also lose their money. As for starting without money, that's how I did it several years ago because I did not have a credit card and could not buy stuff online. It can be done and it's being done by lots of people everyday.

Profit-sharing methods where a popular site takes a cut of each sale you make while you do the work, in my opinion, is the best way to go for those without money. There are no upfront costs, and you are not limited in any way. If your service is good, the ready crowd will snap it up. Running your very own business will definitely require some investment, but will be waay more worthwhile in the long-run as you have complete control.

If you are serious about doing internet marketing i would suggest you try to find some funds to get yourself started.

There are completely free methods of internet marketing that can be used to get yourself started but many of us avoid them because they pose limitations that will hinder you growth in the long run.

The goods news is that it does not require you to raise a huge capital to start your business, somewhere between $100 - $200 would be more than enough to get yourself started with proper tools. (Eg. Web hosting, Domain Names, Auto-responders, Paid traffic)

Most of my ventures start with an operating cost of 0 from the get. Personally, I like to make news/opinion wordpress pages on free hosting, or a friend's box with adsense. Professional networking here is important, as people with current resources that aren't entirely tapped generally are willing to allow you to try a project so long as it benefits them in one way or another. Take what you know and write some guides and be seo friendly, someone seeks the information in your head- don't be bashful, share share share.

It's just knowing what works, the saying is; Discovery requires experimentation.
Analyze your situation, modify and make money.

That is why 95% of persons fail when they go in the internet marketing game, they find too much excuses. I started without any money just by using free blogs like blogger.com to share information and i earned money from adding banners to affiliate programs.

I have been marketing online for years making decent money from membership sites. Then some major life changes, unfortunate health issues left me disabled and broke. After a 5 year layoff, I'm just getting started again, but this time with no money.

So.... I sold a bird cage on Craigslist for $40. Sold the first day. Have never used Craigslist but I was impressed.

Got a couple domains from a Godaddy deal for $1 with Wordpress hosting. Cost $12 for a year. You have to pay annually then it renews at the regular price after a year. Godaddy deal > http://bit.ly/1RHHMki

Got a free domain and a year of Cpanel hosting with decent storage from One.com Web hosting**-**Domain • Hosting • E-mail** cost - Free

Then I started doing online surveys. They seem to get a bad rap from many people, but I've done them for years. If you get on a panel or do website usability test they can pay well for the time spent.

I use http://mysurvey.com (free) 3 weeks in and I'm at $60. 8 surveys is worth $10 to Paypal. So about $5 an hour.

https://www.surveysavvy.com pays well, but surveys are few and far between. One 30min survey and installing a mobile app made me $65.

Come the end of the month I should have $165 from surveys and maybe some more if I find some stuff to sell on Craigslist.

Enough to run a little PPC campaign on bling or Facebook or get some articles from fiverr. Anyway just a few suggestions.

Here is a direct download (pdf) of 7 paying free online survey companies if you want to make an extra $150 or so a month. http://bit.ly/1TKVXCu

Unless you are an expert in SEO and know all the long-tail keywords with low traffic and high demand of a particular niche. It is almost impossible to make money without investing some first.

The Internet marketing era have changed so much that without some kind of investment (like PPC) at the start, it is almost impossible for your site to be seen by potential customers whether affiliate or products related.

• yes it's hard but not impossible,

As you get good valuable content and some good seo, and free backlinking,

You will get traffic and traffic can optin, and the optins you can market to with more value, and make some money

If you don't have any money then you need to CREATE something then sell it. Creating things is making something out of nothing. Why not write a book and sell it on Amazon? That's something that doesn't cost any money. You need to move from a consumer to a producer.

Set's set one thing straight: lack of money isn't their reason for a lack of success.

Get a good course and put in work each and every day. It's not quick, but with enough tenacity you can make it.

Consider even getting a coach. If you're serious, you can make it work.

You can do a JOINT VENTURE
1) you have a good product/service ready to sell
2)) another person has good traffic to send

Combine them together and you make tons of money (you invest your time to create the product)

There are many ways to earn money without any investment. If one has the will to earn money, he will be able to earn money. No doubt. Such as if one have no way to invest money, he can work as a freelancer to earn any amount. After earning an amount, then he can invest money. One can earn a good amount of money without any investment from the freelancing site.
Even if one wants to start blogging without any investment, he can use the free site. Such as blogger & wordpress has free site to use as blog. By this free site, one can start writing Article. After wring some article he can do some SEO to increase traffic. Then he can do the Adsense or, Affiliate or, even he can sell his own products if he has. Thanks

I agree - the freelancers' forum could be a great place to start when you don't have any money to invest.

Offer your services and build up your internet marketing budget.

(Side note: if you have no money to invest - you will be able to avoid the 'Shiny Object (WSO) Syndrome and still come out ahead of other newbies. )

I started my business on the Internet several years ago with no money except for a small monthly hosting fee. Since I was (at the time) selling an inexpensive information package, I paid for my hosting service from those sales and was profitable from the first month, and have been profitable ever since. AdSense and CJ affiliate links are now my main revenue source. My revenue has always greatly exceeded my expenses -- except for the couple of months in which I thought paid Google ads would bring me profitable traffic -- wrong.

If you know what you want to do, and know how to do it, it shouldn't be too difficult.
If you don't know what to do, you'll need someone to tell you what to do, and show you how to do it.
There are lots of mentors in every niche. Most charge fees for their coaching, but how much varies a lot so you'll need to shop around if money is tight. Good Luck! Keep smiling!

I made some nice bucks copywriting - get in contact with WSO creators and offer your services there, if you are a writer and have some training in copywriting.

Just hit them up with a private message and start with low fees, once you are better known you will be able to charge more and more, specially if the conversion is good.

What is a low fee? For example, start asking 300 bucks for something simple as WP plugin.

Great advice from everyone on this post.

Wherever There Is A Will, There's A Way!

Sometimes you got to just sit quiet and ponder on it. You will figure it out. Get creative.

Once, I read a course on promoting a Clickbank product. Well it was recommending Google Adsense, etc. and I did not have that kind of money. Besides it scared the living daylights out of me what it could cost to do that kind of advertising.

I thought to myself, "Is there another way to do this?" Lo and behold, I got my CB hop link, created an ad on Craigslist and made $90 overnight. (Caution: You cannot do an ad on Craigslist today.) I got in a dispute with the vendor, he was mistaken, I got discouraged and did not continue. But guess what? I got paid!

I can relate to this post because this is exactly my situation right now, again. Other posters are right, if you don't have any money to invest then the next best thing is trading your time/skills for some cash.

You see, I got interested in Internet Marketing so I decided to become a member of this forum a few years back and even bought a membership. I didn't have any initial cash to pay for that so I did some freelancing and used the money I earned to pay for the purchase.

The money I got for that was also enough to cover a lot of expenses. Sadly, it didn't go so well for me back then because I didn't treat it as a serious business which other posters in here have already said can be deadly to anyone who wants to make money online. I also got sucked into reading and buying WSOs that I suffered from the dreaded information overload disease. Wasted some money but harshly learned my lesson in return.

Now, I'm freelancing again to earn money which I will use to pay for hosting and domain. Back to square one for me but the good thing is, I am armed with a much clearer view of the whole thing and a stronger determination to succeed this time. It's a business and I must treat it as such.

If anyone is in the same boat as me, don't let the lack of money stop you. Try freelancing or using free methods at first if you want. I'm even from a third world country ($5 is already a valuable amount for me) and I sometimes get paid less for services but I won't let that be the reason to not try. Believe me, there are so many ways to get going even when you don't have money to invest. I'm proof of that. You just have to work harder to get started.

There are many ways to earn money from the online sector, without having any investment. Such as if one use the free hosting of the Google blogger, then he can write some article & can do some SEO. when he will find a good traffic, he will ad this site to Adsense or affiliate program. On the flip side if he is not will to d this work, he can do work as a freelancer. There no need to invest any money if he wish to be a successful freelancer. Just he need to know how to work here. That's all. Thanks.

the amount of time it takes to get money online is surreal. I mean seriously, your better off running premium classifieds, like paid advertising, or selling something exclusive on ebay. those are about the most exciting ventures I have seen online...

You need a minimum to invest :
$350 for a quality service website or blog
$50/month on seo and pay traffic
Count 60-90 days to be profitable, so for $500 investment in total, you can expect minimum $2k after 90 days.
I built tons of such websites and flip them one after one for big price...It's the best business model for me with product creation
