Terms & Conditions: What do you need to add when you switch on Google remarketing?

Hi!

Have been using the forum as an amazing resource for a while, but this is my first post

Am currently finding a T&C's template for a website (based in the US) that will sell online products (ebooks). I want to use remarketing.

When I switch on Google's remarketing and update the analytics code, I understand a cookie will be placed on the visitors's computer.

Would love to know from someone with experience what your legal responsibility is:

1. What needs to be put in the T&C's?
2. I've seen some big sites have a pop-up or hello bar type notificiation that cookies are being used, is this necessary for everyone? Only in the EU? How do you go about this?

Thanks so much for you time

You need to disclose what is happening in clear, straight-forward language.

The real answer here is to consult with a lawyer. I realize it SEEMS like a small issue and a lawyer might not seem necessary but it could come back to bite you later. There are also contract review services online that could save you some money - https://checkacontract.com.

As far as the cookie popup bar - I don't think that it is legally required. Plenty of websites place cookies and don't have a large bar notifying you about it.

Thanks for your answer. Do you have experience with this yourself?

I found https://wordpress.org/plugins/auto-t...rivacy-policy/, which includes a cookie statement.

Would love to hear what others are doing too!
