What Is A "Prospecting" List?

I recently encountered this term via salespage of a paid membership site. If my memory serves me right, I think they said they'll give members 500 prospecting list each month.

Any idea what's this all about?

    Really don't have enough information how they gathered those names for them to pass them along to their members

    most times these types of list are not too focused could be co-registration types of list which from what I understand do not covert well,

    maybe after you try to develop a relationship with that list and find out which ones will stick and which will never convert is what they mean by prospecting type of list

    without more information tough to say
