Is 1600 US searches a month guaranteed?

How much are you paying for it?

Is it on a blacklist?

If it is cheap - try it and then you will know.

google planner shows 1600, Just standard domain fees or on sale with coupon, I doubt on black list.

So it will rank on 1st page even if its redirect only?

It is unlikely isn't it?

What makes you think it will list on the first page as a redirect? It might give your other pages a boost to help them in improving their rank - but if it is redirected, I don't see how it itself will be ranked on the first page.

Point it to your other page on your main site and then i think you will find it will boost that page.

I am asking if it will rank, so you are saying it won't rank as a redirect then.

I guess even if it doesn't It will come in handy to use in certain ads because it looks more targeted to what those people are looking for.

Yeah - it sounds like it could be useful. If it isn't expensive it is probably worth the effort.

It will still rank as itself - but it might be down the list and it will likely depend on where it was before.

You might be able to get better results if you create a page on the site you are pointing to with exactly the same keywords and relevant content - and point to that page.

It won't rank. period.

domains don't rank... pages do.

Google planner is showing you 1600 searches/month for the long-tailed keyword phrase. Some percentage of those searchers will click on a search result. Most of those will go to the page showing in the top position of the results. I assume that no page on that domain is currently ranking anywhere on the first page of results.

For that matter, is the domain even indexed by Google at this point, at all?

If you put it up initially with no content it won't get indexed. If it currently is indexed, the redirect will prompt Google to de-index it.

All sounds pretty straightforward to me.
