HI,

Have been online for some time now, I have come to know that it is one thing to get traffic and another to keep the traffic.

My question here, what is the best know method to retain online traffic and forum membership.

Thank you.

    Your forum need to be:
    1. Interesting for the users. That worth invite and even pay advanced writers there.
    2. Your forum need to have benefits for old users.
    3. You need to have cutting edge technologies adjusted and integrated in social networks like Facebook, Twitter etc.

Let us know when you figure it out, as you will have been the first person on the planet to do so.

Forum membership levels and member participation will continue to grow until the day the numbers start to reverse due to lack of interest or something better coming along.

Whatever goes up, must come down.

    Cheers. - Frank

His post was not about what he feels. He made a declarative statement that can't be supported by facts that anyone can access with 2 minutes of Internet research.

            How do YOU feel, now?

I think retaining online traffic is all about offering what your targeted audience is looking for.In other words solving their problems. Retaining online traffic on a forum is no different from retaining online traffic on a web page. If you start looking at it like that then you probably will easily come up with ideas which, when implemented will keep your traffic coming for more.

Just take a look here in this forum they keep on making changes that will make your accessibility to get what you want (which in this case is information easier) to others it may be getting the latest internet marketing product cheaper than out of the forum and so on

Put them in your email newsletter and deliver excellent info and value to them. Some people will unsubscribe no matter what you do. You can only do the best that you can do. Don't worry about members on your forum who join - then leave, forever. Focus on driving more and more traffic to your forum and getting these people to join. Make your forum fun, entertaining, and interactive.

The bar is constantly rising. So, you can't just give them value. Everyone says that now, have you noticed? Look how many times you hear it in this forum. Look how many times you've heard it in this thread (yawn). "Give Value' has turned into a routine cliche' (with foggy meaning) rather than a concrete strategy.

Now you have to give Radical Value! For example ...
        • They have to almost wonder ... "How you can give this much without going broke" ..value!
        • They'd have to be 'almost' stupid to pass up the value you're giving them or not be serious (or realistic) about solving their problem!
        • You have to give so much value even some of your competitors think you're crazy or at least wonder for a second how you do it.
If not, you're playing it too safe and you risk being seen as just another "me-to" business offering "me-too" value ... like everyone else. That won't cut it, like it use to, with prospects who have more choices, options and skepticism.
