How do you compete with real world institutions advertising against you?

Which is what you can depend on IF you have a product of value, and you are competing with a real world institution.

Like North American horse racing. Race tracks make a ton of money from information publication.... Daily. They also have control of the market.

How do you penetrate that market with an excellent product, while they want the door slammed on your fingers to keep you out.

Everytime you mention your product on Social Media, ten of their employees flame you to a crisp. Is there a way to do direct marketing on social media while this reaction is the case?

Whether in horse racing or casinos - most "excellent products" (the claim) feature 'systems' to "beat the system".

People who work inside those businesses know the various claims, scams, systems and are quick to protect their own turf.

You could go with paid ads instead of promoting via free social media.

You have to think like a Guerrilla (Ninja) Warrior as opposed to a direct competitor. You've got to hit them (niche them) in places they're not focused on as much in your market.

Find their soft spots or a niche in the market that's not profitable for them to mess with because of their shear size. That's how you can use your smallness to your advantage and their size to their disadvantage.

Do those little things they hate to do or don't have time to be bothered with. But with the right marketing can be profitable to you.

Every Big Gorilla company has cracks in their Armor. --somewhere. It sounds like you're trying to compete with them on their turf, play by the rules they've set, and trying to go head-to-head with them and ....getting handed your head.

Also, If you're getting flamed in social media, that usually means you're marketing or promoting in places where you should be offering content value.

I've put more useful information up on the subject than anyone else. That's where the flaming starts. Advertising where there customer visits, while they protect their own turf is a good plan though.
My idea is to approach the customer in the real world, at the convenience store. Then go to social media for unlimited information.

They may work better, especially if they're not using those areas as well as they should or could.

Horse racing is so turned in to itself, there is little marketing on the racetrack's part. The publications target insiders and not the general public. The "normal" world is wide open, but you have to effectively get the attention.

Being where people are, but horse racing isn't may get that attention.

Okay, more detail is the product is satisfaction guaranteed, and the people on the inside are working their scam. They don't want you wising up the pigeons. Casino, you are pure gambling, horse racing is produced systematically and results are very consistent.

The "house" controlled media doesn't want your ads either.

How would you approach this particular market in the wide open spaces of the real world?

I would turn this into promotion.

"The secrets THEY don't want you to know"

Then quote some of the worst flames and say something like-
"Look how afraid 'they' get when I just try and talk about it"
"They are trying to silence me"
    etc.

Create a squeeze page and offer a free report on the 'conspiracy'. Tell them everything except the 'secret' in the paid product. Just like you did in this thread, how 'they' are protecting their 'scam', the difference between gambling as change and horse racing as system, etc.

Pump your product as 'cracking the system'. Sell your paid system from the ebook and to your list.

Look for blogs that share your views of exposing gambling and horce racing 'secrets'. See if they sell ads or banner space. See if they accept guest posts.

Advertise in non-industry places like Google and Facebook where you can target your market.

You could probably write a lot of valuable content in posts and freebies without giving anything away.

Just your posts here have me curious....

Just make sure your paid product is legit and does what it says or your customers will join your opponents calling 'scam'.

I have seen this many times over the internet and surprisingly, a lot of those who use this tactic achieve favorable result. This means this tactic actually works.

Also, I agree with the last line. A legit product or service will become a gold mine no matter what your opponents say against you. Just like Herbalife and other health supplements out there. Pharmaceutical companies say they don't work but look at Herbalife and other companies that sell health supplements... they are making millions.

The paid product is very legit, the problem is that it isn't what handicappers have been conditioned to expect. Handicappers are conditioned to try to "figure out" the winner, it just never dawns that mankind has failed at this for 100's of years.

Bet a horse that can win, at higher odds, and you can't lose. It is the complete opposite of what they are taught. This is not my desired market anyway. My desired market is the larger market that already believes horse racing is fixed.

It is the "fixing" that makes it beatable, that is the secret.

Most handicappers have beginners luck, start out winning, then get trained to lose. So this has always been my secondary market, and primary is beginners. First thing is get attention, then stir an interest.

At least, it looks that way to me after 7 years of study of handicappers.

A great headline of the past was "Rob Racetracks..... legally!"

Yes that's a truth ,even Google don't optimize some areas ,best example is Google Adword Certification ,their course material is not so comprehensive ,that's why people are earning good money by writing guides on them.

You have to find a niche the world institutions and the big corporations didn't find yet.
If they see something that is generating a lot of money, they will take over and crush the competition.

From what I've seen, all that started happening in Internet Marketing around 1998. There haven't been niches unknown for many years already. Come up with a good idea today, and General Motors has control of it and is putting it into play in 3 days.

You have to do what they don't want done. In horse racing that would be to educate the general public that is NOT involved at all in horse racing. It is the larger market anyway.

      It appears to me.

The plus is that you can sell on what they already believe. You can be honest, while the industry is married to keeping good information to themselves.
