People who work regular day jobs.. When do you get paid?

I'm doing research on when people get paid. I found a thread on a website called straight dope What Day Of The Week Do You Get Paid On - Straight Dope Message Board

I wanted to do the same experiment here.

When do you get paid usually at your day/hourly/regular job?

i worked in a hospital, and in order not to pay overtime for people working every other weekend, paydays at the hospital were alternating every other wednesday on the week after the 2 week pay period ended

    Weekly, on Friday

Payroll runs from Sunday at midnight to Saturday at 11:59pm. Previous week is paid out the following Friday.

I would confidently guess over 80 percent of Americans get paid on Fridays - and then at least 2/3 of those are a weekly while the rest would be every 2 weeks.

Guess based on what's been observed in the past with my jobs and the jobs of those around me.

It's partly a question of when do businesses do their payroll.

I will admit - that once a month thing is bizarre sounding. I know some people who like to blow a whole check when they get it and wouldn't work well with that plan.

My last job was at a Resort. I was a bellman. I got paid every other Friday. The job paid pretty decent and I got a lot of tips, but I was making more money from my online business so I quit.

Now, I'm currently making my living solely from online marketing. I would choose the laptop lifestyle over any job. Well, I wouldn't mind being a professional basketball player, but that's another story for another day.

When I was working, I was getting paid every other Friday, which also helped with the bills but this was like YEARS ago before I got started with internet marketing!

I'm from Singapore and most of us get paid here on the last working day of each month.

I never knew US made payouts on the friday of every week! Thats 4 times more often than us.

I once knew someone that got paid on Mondays and a few on Tuesdays, not many on Wednesdays, but quite a few on Thursdays and Fridays. People who have direct deposit can have a payday of Friday but get their deposit on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday depending on their bank. Then you have to take holidays into consideration. If a holiday comes on Thursday or Friday then you will probably get paid on Tuesday or Wednesday. And, if your payday is Friday but you take Friday off then you have to come in to get your check or you might have to wait until you come back to work so for that week your payday will actually be the next week on Monday. I really hope this helps.

Just to simplify this. Who really gives a crap

Fair play. Its important to understand your market and knowing when they have the most disposable income is a major factor.

I would guess then as most here say they are either paid at end of a month or a Friday that you will be boosting your WSO tomorrow.

Worked and ran a family business. Pay day was every Friday.

As one business man told a group of similar business people. Pay them on Friday if they waste the money all weekend in a bar they will be in on Monday ready to work. If you pay them on Thursday they may take a day off to recover.

Usually in my neck of the woods, people get paid every other week on a Friday.

Of course it doesn't always happen on Fridays, if Friday is a holiday.

In such a case, payday is either Thursday or the following Monday.

    Regardless, it is pretty consistent.

With that said, I haven't had a “real job" for over 15 years.

I've been working online for all that time, and I own my own time.

You might want to look into that because that is the best way to go if you want to manage your own time and live life to the fullest.

If you are still in the process of transitioning, my answer is every other Friday.

Back when I worked a regular job, I got paid every other Friday. The feeling of money in the bank was always nice, but nothing beats getting paid every single day of the week.
