Why direct people to like the FB fan page?

I have seen many affiliate marketer for ClickBank set up a FB fan page for their product. My question is, why is it necessary to create a FB Fan Page for XYZ product when you can already sell the products through listbuilding + FB ads?

Perhaps is it because there is more social proof by directing them to the Fan Page? If yes, then, wouldn't it be better to have a comments section on the affiliate marketer's website that can be better moderated? I am personally using Disqus commenting system on my website.

Please feel free to share your opinion.

Building a large fan page opens up a big avenue for reaching customers. You can use a large fan page to:
    • Build a List
    • Drive Traffic
    • Sell Offers
What makes a fan page almost better than list-building is the ability to drive incremental traffic via sharing (something you don't get from email subscribers).

Here are four beneficial reasons right off the bat:
    • the opportunity to be transparent with your customers
    • the opportunity to increase brand awareness (via friends sharing with their friends)
    • the opportunity to increase your chances of being found in search engines
    • the opportunity to use up their server instead of yours

    Simple answer; BRANDING.

Facebook is one of the most popular social networks in the entire world, as you already know. So, it would be beneficial for any company, or business, to be on Facebook.

You can reach out to more people, and build more authority online that way.

It just makes sense, in today's world, that you should also be on Facebook.

The question should actually be, Why are you not on Facebook, yet??

I do not think is a smart business idea to neglect the most popular social network online!!

    You get what Im saying?!

You will be able to brand your products and service even more thanks to Facebook. And on top of that, it also helps you with social proof!

There are many benefits to having your business, products, and/or service on Facebook. There is none saying otherwise!

Social media is the way to go! That is why most if not all of the major brands have presence on Facebook in the form of Facebook Fanpages today. Hundreds of millions of persons are on facebook daily.

When you start out you might not realise the power of building a brand but with time building a brand is what really brings in the big money. And facebook is definitely the place to be known if you want your brand reach to go overboard. So why have a facebook fan page? I will answer with a chuckle "TO BUILD A BRAND".
