Blocked account with thousands in commissions!

Hello warriors?

Recently a friend had his escrow account in an affiliate system to use the product sales page in an Iframe only to "mark the traffic" You can tell me why this is forbidden? And how he was managing to make many sales with this technique?

Thanks to all who responded!

Well, for technical reasons, iframes can be problematic. If using an iframe is against the terms of use, I'm not surprised the account was blocked, sadly. That's why you always need to read the terms.

Well, as I said, it can cause problems on the technical end. It can also be used for malicious purposes. So, many sites prohibit iframes.

IFrames are typically used in a deceptive manner that is bad for the customer, the business, and in some cases are illegal. Now there can be situations where it is none of the above but those would be a minority of cases.

More importantly, you are looking at this the wrong way. It does not matter why a particular advertiser, offer owner, or network prohibits iframing. That's totally irrelevant. All that matters is that it is prohibited. That is all you need to know. They have a right to set their terms. You either agree to them or do not promote the offer.

  • iframes give the appearance of the affiliate site being the actual site which is often prohibited in the TOS of most affiliate programs

When you want to use any site, you must accept the Terms & Conditions of the site. As his account is blocked now, he should try to contact with the Help desk as early as possible. His Balance may forfeiture for the block account.

Cookie stuffing comes to mind. Most affiliate programs make it against the TOS to have an iframe because for the most part an iframe can be used for deceptive practices that try to "game" the affiliate program.

I can think of two reasons againts iframing and they have been already posted, the first is it hurts branding of the advertiser and secondly it it is to safeguard them against cookie stuffing.
