Help With Article Traffic Please

3 replies
Hey everyone, I've had this problem for a year now and I gues now is as good time as ever to ask about it.

I've had an article site for a few years now using the article dashboard php script and over a year ago started failing.

BestArticlesNow.com

I haven't done anything with the site and now have checked my Google Analytics to find out I have anywhere from 150 to 250 unique hits a day from this site.

Most of the people are from India probably trying to post more articles but after 94,000 already published articles, my stupid script won't allow me to approve any more and I don't know what to do.

I've got Adsense on there making me nothing so I assume most of the traffic is article publishers from India.

So how in the world do I monetize this site to make it beneficial to me and to the publishers?

Do I scrap it and start over or what?
Do I put a email sign up form telling them that they are going to be informed of a new site?
Do I sell it?
Do I place ads all over it and hope for the best?

I'm afraid the script is so shot that it's hopeless. I have other websites but don't want to waste too much time if this is a lost cause.

Very few of the submissions per day are from automated software as most are direct visits from real people, mostly from India.

Any help would be appreciated.

    As long as the database is still in tact you should be ok. Take a backup of everything and post a job for a freelancer to fix it.

    What do the people at articledashboard have to say about your limit, because I have looked at other article dashboards sites and the claim to have more articles than you have

    if you can' get anywhere hire someone to fix it and go from there,

    also look around and see what you would get for it if it was sold

    keep testing with your ads, this adsense stuff just rots, there has to be better ways to get it monetized

      I always update mind directly in the database because it's way too much to handle manually. If you have access to your database, the following two commands will work:

      Update ar_articles set `status` = 'A' where `status` = 'F';

      Update ar_articles set `category_id` = '249' where `category_id` = 0;

      This activates all new articles and sets the entries that have not been assigned a category to 'Other'

      The prefix for my tables is 'ar_' if your table prefix is different then you'd have to change this of course.

      Hope it helps.
