These days I use the all the content I can produce so I'm not sure where you may find someone interested or the best formats, etc. Sorry.

Hope you can get it figured out soon.

If you have lots of time, there are many ways that you could go about divesting yourself of these articles. If you want to move them quickly, put a price on them that you feel is fair and what you would ultimately be willing to accept and then list them on as many sites as possible for sale, including here.

The most important thing to keep in mind is that your perceived value may differ greatly from the actual value, which ultimately is whatever someone is willing to pay for your collection. It appears that this is a very uncommon niche (bizarre locations), so your market could be extremely limited.

      Good luck with your goal.

      Cheers. - Frank

Thanks for your reply Frank but unfortunately I don't have "lots of time", as I clearly stated.

That's the point I was seeking advice on. What exactly is a fair price? And what sites should I list them on, apart from here?

Firstly, they are not "bizarre locations". They are a comprehensive and definitive collection of bizarre attractions to visit..

Secondly, the market is definitely NOT extremely limited. Did you actually read my complete post? I wrote that I'd made several thousand from a single submitted blog article. That was from hard copy books being sold to my web site visitors from the blog traffic being redirected via links on the articles. There is scope here to submit numerous articles to numerous blogs, so to say the market is limited is rather a negative statement to say the least.

Thanks again for your reply though.

Sorry. My intent was not to be negative. Yes, I read your post, twice, but apparently I did not fully understand it. Me thinks your situation has left you a bit over-sensitive.

The only thing I will restate that you didn't seem to understand in my post is that there is no way to determine a 'fair' price. Only you know the lowest price you will accept for them and what they are worth is what someone is willing to pay for them. Nothing says those two figures will be commensurate.

I sold extremely rare tropical fish for many years. I had specimens that looked like fish you would see in a pet shop for $1.00 and that is what 99.9% of hobbyist considered them to be worth. Fortunately, the remaining .1% of advanced hobbyists were willing to pay the $125 that I was asking.

It always comes down to finding the individual that actually must have your offering. I'm sure there is someone out there, but you stated that you have time restraints, so that will entail making compromises on your perception of what they should bring. Obviously. someone that is casually interested is not going to pay you nearly as much as someone that has a need and idea on how to benefit from their expenditure.

I realize I'm not telling you anything that you don't already know. I just think that you shouldn't let your need for immediacy cloud your perspective.

Again, I deeply apologize if I offended you. That truly was not my aim. I was trying to be helpful, but I guess I should have not been so pithy in my response.

          Cheers. - Frank

            PositiveNegative,

You're asking for help without giving us any details so that we can give you some answers.

How on earth is someone going to tell you what your price ought to be when they haven't seen your product?

You're asking where to sell your product fast when you haven't told us who the prime candidates for the product might be.

You want to know if you should break up the product or sell it as a "whole" when none of us have ever seen exactly what you're offering.

Should you license the product and can you sell licenses quickly? How in the world would we know that when we haven't seen the product?

You're asking for empathy. That's fine. No one wants to be in your situation. No one should have to fear that their kids are going to be taken away.

But I gotta tell you, it sounds to me like you've dug a deep hole for yourself and now you want advice so you can make quick money and buy your way out of a jam that you've been wallowing in for a decade. People on a public forum aren't going to be able to give you life changing business advice at this late date. Internet marketing takes time, patience, a lot of hard work, and being smart about your execution.

I think your biggest need right now is to learn personal responsibility. You reap what you sow - both in your personal life and in your business. I know you feel like others are the cause of your problems - you've "been blackmailed, robbed, systematically subjected to false accusations, and is now battling to prevent his children being abducted and taken overseas."

You've got to change yourself first before you can change your circumstances.Steve

Seriously? Those posts went on for days and were slathered in self-pity. All I see here is someone looking to take immediate action to get out of a tough spot. Haven't we all been there at one time or another? I know that I have - more than once.

HD, this isn't my area of expertise and I'm not sure it's the expertise of this forum. From reading your posts, I'm assuming these are expertly crafted, magazine-worthy pieces. I'd recommend you ask these questions on a writers' forum.

That said, you mentioned Cracked and other high profile sites. I hesitate to ask because you'll probably smack me, but have you spoken to any of them?

As to how to value them, it's a tad subjective. Certain writing is worth more to certain buyers and we're all kind of in the dark here about your portfolio. I assume it's quality work, but I don' know. You could take an average of what the above-mentioned sites pay for an article and apply that to your portfolio. Offer them a 10-15% discount to buy as a whole for a quicker sale.

I can't claim expertise in this area.

Repeat this if the book product was yours. If not, find a popular travel blog or YouTube channel and establish a profit share or licensing agreement.

As you did in OT, point the Copywriting section to this post.

Buckle down and work and be proud of how you handle this dilemma.

If there were time I'd suggest categorizing the articles and offering them to various owners of travel and vacation sites. Doesn't sound like you have time for that.

I'm not going to launch into a huge explanation as you are experienced enough (I think) to understand what I'm suggesting.

Separate the articles into groups of 100 each (remember 50 words is NOT an article but a blog post) or articles and 'blog posts'.

Categorize them by group according to global location (North America or Asia) or topic (beach vs snw destinations) - just an example of how you might group them.

Then sell in a WSO or Classified (and in your sig here) - for a reasonable price for 100 articles (say $27) and sell no more than 50 copies of each group.

50 copies is negligible as many who buy PLR never get around to using it. Selling "limited copy" PLR help keeps value of the articles but will pay off better than individual sales of this type article (not custom written to order).

Say you sell a group of articles for $27 and you are able to sell 40 copies.
That end up paying you almost $11 per article - not bad for pre-written content if you can sell them.

This method depends on how much money you desperately need. If it were me and I desperately needed some cash...here's exactly what I would do.

I'd make four categories as I mentioned above. I would sell no more than 50 copies of each group (category) and I'd sell them CHEAP.

I'd advertise it as a "need money fast" sales to justify a low price - and I'd sell those four groups of articles for $10-15 each group (could also be with a higher "limited sales" number.

I'd run a WSO or a classified - and push it in my sig as a limited time offer.

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.
