Hello all...

There are three elements that make a successful business (this what I think anyway)...

Authoritative Website
Monetization
Additional Income

Why Authoritative Website?
Well as Google can change things and your website might not be found on it's search engine, SEO is exactly what is means... that is my secondary goal, optimize my site, not my primary goal... as you can get traffic so many ways these days, you do not wholly have rely on Google, Bing, etc search engines to being you people... I think, content is king and this is what people will come back for.

Monetization
Well... you can build a website which is great which might make some income from Adsense and other sources, but if you want serious money... then we need t build someone that we can monetize well and what someone is willing to pay for (no ripping off people... we are here to provide a service!)

Additional Income
This is where Adsense, adverts, etc revenue stream could come into play.

Idea!!!
What can I do?

Thanks!

Do niche research, like everyone else does, and make a authoritative website.

Find a way to monetize it i.e. promote affiliate products

build your list for additional income stream.

I mean, you already spelled it out yourself, now just do it

A bar of iron cost $5. Made into horseshoes, it's worth $12. Made into needles, it's worth $3500. Made into balance springs for watches, it's worth $300,000. Your value is determined by what you are able to make of yourself

Are you saying that you do not know what a niche is.

If that is the case then you have a very long way to go.

Example: Health and Fitness is a market, Diet is part of the Health and fitness market. Diet to lose babyfat after giving birth is a niche

No... it's not that... I see the word niche thrown around loosely on this site. I am going to throw some examples and see what people think?

            Guess,

Look for demand in the marketplace . . . an audience of like-minded folks that are searching for a solution to a problem or to experience some desire they have. Find that demand and the precise solution that will satisfy the demand. How you position your business to sell into that demand is the niche that you will occupy.

Try to establish a niche that has little or minimal competition. It might be in a very competitive market . . . or not. There won't be saturation for you if you do things differently. It's when there are a thousand copy cat businesses in a market all selling the same thing that problems occur for those sellers.

One of the best ways to be different and unique is to dig way down deep into a market and focus on one thing. Become the authority . . . the "go to" source for that one thing . . . and be better than anyone else in the market.

            The best to you,

            Steve

That's excellent Steve... but I am thinking that I do not need to do something that is too hard... just need to do something better than someone else.

              :-)

That's certainly a viable approach. Be the very best at what you do. Improve upon the solutions that are already in the marketplace. Your business does not need to be "one of a kind" if you can prove to your prospects that you have the very best solution.

In one of my businesses, I've branded it as "the only logical solution when you need _____________." It works!

Yes... this is what I want to do. Quality... not quantity! Fingers in one pie and not in every pie. But it will be the best pie... I already reading some threads and it amazes how many people fail with the basics! They put up a site and then thing... right, lets do some advertising and watch the money flow in!

                  How wrong!

You may want to consider remodelling or reverse engineering an approach of those you currently follow in this industry. Think about those you look up to now, and those that give you "WOW" moments. Do they inspire you to be like them? In most cases it's going to come down to who you resonate with, but rather than saying "what can I do?" maybe you just need to go down a route to someone or others you can see yourself doing from a business perspective then take your plan of action from there.

See... I don't want to do this as well.

I go to a restaurant and the food is not great... BUT it is busy... I do not understand this.

I don't think I need to reverse engineer anything... I just need to make it better.

You can do this with pretty much anything... I am not on about taking on Google.... or Amazon... but there are average sites making good money...
