Any comprehensive resources on how to COMMUNICATE with your email list?

Can anybody recommend any comprehensive resources/links/posts/courses/eBooks that teach you how to COMMUNICATE effectively with your email list? I've already got a list built up...now I need to figure out how to communicate with my list, build trust, etc, and so forth.

Thanks in advance!

There isn´t and there can´t be... You need to find your own "style" of communication if you want your list to bond with you.

I take it you have communicated with your list.

If you have then it's time to get boring, review each of your delivered messages to identify what your list responds to.

best subject line format and content
best message topic, what does your list want to hear about
best message layout, call to actions, story theme
best time/day to deliver the message

In short if you have communicated with your list then most of the answers are available to you if you spend the time listening to what your list data is trying to tell you.

Um... what market are you targeting? You can't apply a blanket communication method to all markets. That's mistake #1.

Build relationship with people in your list, similarly as you do in your physical world. Mostly there will be one way communication just from your side but its OK because people take time to trust. Try to take feedbacks. Ask for improvements. Provide value, i.e. products, services, contents to help them and do not ask for money until you believe your product is so excellent to sell itself.

"Permission Marketing" by Seth Godin, and "Brand Against the Machine", by John Michael Morgan are IMO the most comprehensive resources for quickly establishing and holding onto solid relationships with your prospects and customers. These methods have proven to be particularly effective for extracting maximum value in some of my most hotly competitive niches.

Godin discuses what he calls The 5 Levels of Permission Marketing:

      * Situational Permission: The prospect permits the business to come into contact by providing their personal information.

      * Brand Trust: The prospect permits the business to continue supplying their needs.

      * Personal Relationship: The prospect’s permission is granted because of a personal relationship that he/she has with someone in the provider organization.

      * Points Permission: At this stage, the customer has agreed to receive goods or services and has allowed the business to collect their personal data. This is usually because they are provided with incentives, such as exchangeable points or an opportunity to earn a prize.

      * Intravenous Permission: The supplier has now taken over the supply function for a specific good or a service; the customer is completely dependent on the business.

Morgan offers a blueprint for your brand framework, with step-by-step guidance, including:

      * Know who your target audience is and what they want

      * Define your position as the go-to authority in your industry

      * Determine your audience's problem and create a solution for them

      * Produce valuable content that attracts your audience and engages them

      * Promote yourself without pestering people

      * Over-deliver on your promise

    hey friend
the Best way to create a good relation with your list is GIVER THEM VALUE .

For example if you find a good article in your niche you can share it with them no problem if it belongs to other website

Share good videos with them if they gives good information that your list will like

give them pure value give them surveys to fill

AND MAKE SURE in first email OVER DELIVER (give them more value then you promised)

Many people in your list will gain a good trust after 7-8th email i prefer give them 10 first emails of value and if you want to sell you can send them email with your affiliate links

I guess thats all Hope this helps

I don t know if there are this kind of courses.
But this is a very personal thing, depending on what do you sell!

A good way to learn is to find a successful portal selling products in your niche and copy what they do.
