How many posts does it take to succeed?

Hey everybody. Been a little while since I've been on here but I have been busy working my day job in order to keep paying the bills you know. All well, I was mostly wanting to get some feedback about how many posts does it take to succeed with a blog? I know that it depends on the quality,niche,content, yada yada yada but I was just looking for an honest answer from somebody that has already done this before you know I currently have about 75 posts and I know that is a decent start, but do I really need to have hundreds of them to make a big difference in my traffic? Is it just tough until you can get some age on the domain as well? I've heard that you should be posting every few days at least but that is not really possible for me and I have plenty of other things in my life to keep me busy too. Peace

      This is one of those threads that just makes me shake my head. You (the OP) have a blog about making money online, yet you don't seem to be making much (if any).

      So, while you're trying to get people to your blog about how to make money online, you say this (on your blog):

    The GoFundMe page is for getting more social media shares and building up traffic to my blog as well. I know all of the right ways to start making money online but finding the ways of getting a ton of new traffic to it, is another story. Mostly been using this forum, free traffic from Google and depending on getting social media shares for right now. I also have a page about how they can start their own blog and everything they need to know about it inside this page

    You need one post to start to be successful. You don't get traffic from the posts you write but from the marketing you do. But you should already know that.

    It's not about the number of posts. It's really about the products you're promoting on your blog and how much traffic those products get and how well you rank for each one in the search engines. The goal is to get ranked early when there is less competition. I create micro-niche blogs all the time. When I'm first getting ranked, all that's on there is like the basic stuff like the privacy policy, about, and such...and the product review itself. If you choose the right product and stuff, you can get ranked off that with little effort.

    Here's what I usually do (or plan to do).
    Write about 15 posts on my blog. Wait a month.
    If I get 30-40 UV's/day for those articles then I know that the traffic is twice the number of posts I have.

    If I estimate that 100 UV's/day is what I need to make some $$ from my site, the I know I need around 50 articles to reach that level. It's a crude estimate type method that's usually proven wrong. From personal experience, 1 good (low-competition) article brings more traffic to my site than about 30 equally good (high-competition) articles.

    Point is, with the right keywords, even 20-30 posts can get the job done, with the wrong keywords it might take hundreds.

    There is no "number". Do you think "Home and Garden" magazine editors sit around wondering how many articles they can get away with to be successful? How about CNET.com or HuffPo? Do you think they are worrying about these things?

    Make your site useful. You are trying to become a publisher. As a publisher, your job is to publish - which means constantly publishing content.

    The focus is on your sig because you are telling people how to make money online while you are asking them how to make money online - because you don't know how to make money online.

    To answer your specific question:

    I run several successful blogs. I post on each of them multiple times a week and have done so for the last 3 years.

    The number depends on so many factors. My most successful site has 10 pages that happened to rank for a low competition,high traffic term and voila.
    I have a site with 300 posts that gets much less traffic .

    It used to be 43 but with all the recent algorithm changes at the big search compaines it is now around 62 or 63

    The amount of posts on one's blog has very little correlation with their level of success. But hey, you seem like you've been trying hard so I'll give you a bunch of constructive advice that I hope you take to heart since there doesn't seem to be much actual advice on this thread.
    1. Get out of the make money online market. Unless you're actually doing well you have no business in the space. You're up against people who are not only talking the talk, but walking the walk as well. You're not going to be able to compete with them until you can bring something unique to the table.
    2. Your niche needs to be more refined. On your website I'm seeing article on everything from finding coins with metal detectors to blogging. Someone interested in one isn't going to be interested in the other, and this will make it harder to retain visitors. Again, look at your competition. There are other websites that focus solely on one topic or the other, and the people interested in those topics will visit those websites instead.
    3. Writing blog posts is only one step of the system. If nobody is reading your posts, than you don't have a blog, you have a diary. For every minute you spend writing, spend 4x as much time marketing that content. Posting one awesome post a week and spending the rest of your time marketing will make you much more than posting 5 mediocre posts a week with no marketing.
    4. I see nowhere to opt-in to an email list. I also see nothing for sale. An email list with a good sales funnel is your ticket to making money.
    5. Blogs don't make money, businesses make money. With nothing for sale and no email list, I can't help but think you've got a blog rather than a business.
    6. Because you're asking about number of posts, I'm assuming you're relying on search engines to send you traffic. This is a huge mistake for a number of reasons. Focus on methods you have control over.

    It depends on:

    - How you market your blog to get traffic

    - If you are retaining your traffic with opportunities to "subscribe"

    - If you have monetization options on your blog (adsense, ebooks, affiliate, etc)

    - If your content is worth it

    - If you're confident about what you are saying

    - If you look at blogging as simply a platform to share knowledge, and not to make money from instantly

    Number of posts doesn't indicate anything. If anything... people should look at the number of real and relevant comments that your blog posts get.
