You've tried everything and can't find success?

Over the past week or two it seems there have been a lot of tired, frustrated Warriors posting threads along the line of

"I've tried everything and nothing works - please help me!"

In a lot of cases, there's a very simple solution: quit starting over!

Unlike what you've read and what you want to believe, profitable online business takes time and persistent focused effort.

The best to all of you,

Steve

Well, yeah. But there's that "definition of insanity" thing, you know.

I agree with you Steve, mostly. But I do have to admit that some times you need to quit things that just don't work. Especially in the context of the warrior forum I have seen people promoting techniques/strategies that I have tried myself and that don't work at least not the way people describe them. If someone I know was doing one of those things that I know for a fact don't work I would tell them to quit. I have seen lots of people fail at things that were predictably destined to failure.

      Marguerite,

You won't get an argument from me on that. Yes, it is imperative that sometimes you need to cut your losses and move on.

My thread was more directed to those that say they have "tried everything" which, IMO, suggests maybe dozens of different attempts at various businesses and markets.

If you've seen any of my posts you know I am always preaching market research before you decide on a business. Most IMers, it seems, don't do it yet there is not a better way to judge your probability for success in any given business model and niche.

When someone laments that they've "tried everything" it kind of suggests to me that they are prone to giving up too easily. Maybe I'm wrong.

      Thanks for your comment.

Now there`s merit in what you both say!! Sure you have to be determined, persistent and work hard if you wish to build a business online but if you are following strategies that don`t create a good result at the end of it then no matter how hard you work you won`t get anywhere. Find a good business model and stick to it. Another saying goes "Don`t work hard, work smart".

That was the first thing that jumped into mind when I read the title - these people obviously aren't giving enough attention to any one thing.

Of course, the opposite can also be true, which was my problem starting out. Eventually if something is not working you need to reevaluate and try something else.

Today my advice is to give something your complete all for 6 months. For 6 months, give it all you've got. If you're not profitable after 6 months, something is off or you're not working hard enough.

This brings up the point of good planning. If you research the topic, industry, keywords, etc. and everything looks good, then when you don't see good results initially, you can be confident that they will come if you are consistent

I know its very frustrating when you go month by month without making any money but you just have to persevere and keep trying something different if a particular method doesn't work. Most successful Internet Marketers struggled at first until they were able to find there footing.

Great post Steve. I tell people all the time, "Consistency, not Brilliance". People think all they need is 1 *BRILLIANT* idea and then they will be able to quit their job. Nope.

Einstein had his breakthrough with light at age 26 (special relativity). Then it took him 10 MORE years to publish his breakthroughs on General Relativity, proof that the atom really exists, e=mc2, and the photoelectric effect.

I wonder what would have happened if he gave up after year number 2.

That was a nice motivational post for those who are starting up!

Here are few other notes as well:

    1. Become an expert in something. Specialize in a field.
    2. Provide services or sell products related to the field that you have become an expert in.
    3. Build connections and lists of subscribers.
    4. Work hard, think smart and have patience.

Hope those few tips help a bit!
