How to Make Your First $1 Online?

I think the easiest way to avoid disappointment is by keeping tabs on expectations.

Many newbies expect to earn $1000 online without 1st making their 1st dollar online. It's hard to run if you haven't mastered walking yet.

So, here's how I suggest making your 1st modest dollar online. Do online jobs.

The best place to do that in my opinion, is Fiverr.com. Start with writing jobs or video testimonials. These are in high demand and have a low barrier to entry.

Look out for more posts from me.

Cheers!

That sounds like the opposite end of the spectrum, where you buy micro jobs from micro workers and then resell them, or use them to effectively scale up your own business.

You can do this by buying gigs from seoclerks.com and then reselling them on Fiverr.com

Or, you can use Fiverr gigs for your own business. For example, you can buy highly-rated articles on Fiverr.com, and then resell them on your own 'Article-Writing Service' website.

Or, you can get a Virtual Assistant to write articles for you automatically on your blog so that you don't have to.

That's what I can think of for now...

I think providing services is one of the best ways to start in internet marketing, because it will provide you with a relatively consistent income that you can then use to invest in tools and resources that you will need as you progress in your online marketing.

Services like content and graphic creation will always be in demand, and if you learn and develop these skills they will always serve you well and come in handy even when you become a big internet marketer -- they will not go to waste.

If someone wants to make their first dollar, they should sign up to iWriter and write articles for people there.

With fiverr (or any other micro job site) you're not guaranteed to get any clients.

With iWriter, the clients are there. You just gotta pick who you're gonna work for.

That's assuming you have writing skills.

Perhaps the better approach would be doing arbitrage between forums. Most people can cross reference deals and sell high and buy low.

Step 1: Find the top 10 most visited (by Alexa Site info score - I know this is a weak reference source but it's better than taking shots in the dark) IM forums.

Step 2: Monitor their Buy and Sell sections

Step 3: Find IN DEMAND (based on replies) offers and cross reference other forums.

I don't mean to do your homework for you, but it should be fairly easy to figure out the rest. It's all about ARBITRAGE: Buy low, sell high. The secret is to BUY only when you already have a buyer that's sent payment. You might want to engage the seller ahead of time to get work samples or product details before you close the deal.

The first time you try might be rough but hey, Rome wasn't built in a day.

The key is to keep at it until you get faster, more efficient, and better at it.

You don't need any major writing skills. Only 6th grade English. Yes, correct grammar and spelling (Grammarly can help with that).

Your other suggestion might be too complex for someone who wants to do something simple. Write an article. Get paid. Write another. Get paid again. Write so many articles, start getting paid more.

When you start talking about arbitrage you lose half your audience who doesn't know what you're talking about or the first thing about it.

Assuming you went to the right website (iwriter.com), they are very vigilant about blocking people from IP addresses that were flagged as spam.

You can try using the Tor browser to get around that.

Fiverr is probably a decent way to get your feet wet and make that first dollar.

I know when I first started out 8 years ago I made my actual first dollar filling out free offers and surveys with GPT sites.

Of course you are limited in what you can make. But it was not tough making $50 a month with GPT sites like Cashcrate and Fusioncash.

Just do not try to make a business out of them, for God's sake

I made my first buck on eBay in what seems like many moons ago. I have been selling there for 15+ years now. The money I have made from eBay has been used to fund many other entrepreneurial ventures so for at least me it is a great, easy place to make $$. After all there are plenty garage sales, thrift stores, and auctions around where I can grab up some low cost, high quality merch.

I have not tried fiverr yet but I have considered it a time or two.

Client work is profitable, usually, but is also a real pain in the butt.

Sell a product whenever possible. It's one sale, fire and forget. It's done and over with after the first transaction.

Client work, you have to keep going back over and over again. Most of my work is with clients and it's not easy. Yes it can have big paydays. But the PITA factor is very high. Much preferable to sell a product.

My first online sale was a product. $20. But I had some expertise, and here's the funny thing...

I made it myself in 2011 with the tools I had available.

Which was a laptop with a low-res camera.

    No editing.

I just hit "Start Recording" and what I said, pauses and all, was what they got.

    Sold that product for years.

People loved it because the content was great.

The point is: you can let things stand in your way...or you can just get on with it.

What do you have expertise in?

What can you make a product about (which should take you no more than a couple days) and market in front of a target audience?

I didn't do MMO; I did sales training.

You can get lost in the herd if you're not careful.

So where can you get Leads from a target market?

A bidding site for freelance projects does give you that opportunity.

It also, unless you are good at branding and positioning, places you immediately in high competition with other people--who, to the client, look exactly the same as you.

Now we're down to the cheapest price winning the order.

Now you're conditioning yourself to accept the lowest price.

Not a game I care to play.

Much better to create a product (doing the work ONCE instead of over and over with clients), get it in front of a target audience, and make sales.

I wouldn't do it here, at least not in the main forum, either. Too much saturation. Even with experienced people, there's the "Who can I trust?" mentality, combined with an overloading of "Make Money Online NOW! Get Filthy Rich In Seventeen Minutes!" baloney.

Go somewhere you can stand out.

Somewhere you can answer specific questions from a specific audience.

Get known for being able to do that.

Then you'll sell. People will want to buy.

Jumping in here with product and noise that looks and sounds exactly like everyone else is, frankly, pretty dumb. Not a surprise it's tough to make sales with that approach.

Client work comes with its own problems and you can get caught in the "lowest price" mentality and marketplace. Working for bottomfeeders isn't fun or a valuable long term strategy.

There are actually many ways to get your first $1 online. First is to determine your talents and put them into good use using different freelancing avenues in the internet i.e. Fiverr, elance, odesk, iwriter, etc. If you can write an ebook or any guides that can help people to solve their problems, you can also sell them on Tradebit.com, just post and go, if somebody buys them then you get the money! If you're good in arts and crafts, you can also create your unique stuff and sell them on Etsy.com. The good thing with these money-making avenues are their heavy traffic. You can still do marketing but you don't need SEO and any other means of internet marketing. However these avenues are saturated so a good process and a little bit of tweak make your products or services stand out.

    I'd agree on using Fiverr.

However, one should know that Fiverr isn't easy. It's dedication and hard work (like everything else). Even to get your very first sale. When that day occur, you need to keep focus because that's when the ball can start rolling.

I think you can't depend on either binary options or Forex trading as a viable source of consistent income. It has its ups and downs, and some months can be great, but to have your entire livelihood depend on trading is pretty risky.

It's great as a source of supplementary income, but being able to do something online (such as list building, product creation, providing services, etc.) that gives you more consistent income is the key to breaking free from the rat race and not having to work for someone.

I would do affiliate marketing. Its one of the easiest and fastest ways. You can do something like a CPA or cost per action network. Somebody like adsense or say an offer from peerfly. Possibilities are almost endless as new opportunies arrive on a daily basis just about.

Learning right off the bat that you can't just promote your affiliate url and make sales. In todays marketplace you need to seperate yourself from your compeition and you do this by creating your own capture page and sales funnel leading your prospect into your paid affiliate offer.

Set it up all correctly your not selling anything and your prospect naturally purchases what ever it is your offering. Thats when your conversions go from like 0.05 1 maybe 2% to like 20 percent and higher.

Might sound impossible now but focus and learn it and within a week or less you could have something together if you did it all yourself.

Course then you need to get some numbers so you can start to optimize it or make it better. In the end it all comes down to conversions.

So simple a newbie can do it....

    once you understand!

Whose quote is that? Cute quote but a stupid analogy. This assumes that the moon is a big target and stars are somewhat smaller: ie. miss the big goal, hit a smaller one.
Let's see. The Moon is about 1/4 Earth's diameter and less than 2 light seconds away. The closest star is 4 light years away and its mass is millions of times greater than the mass of the Moon.

I made my first $90 online selling a Clickbank product. Got my hop link and advertised on Craigslist.org. Of course, I did not get the email addresses of the people that purchased. But that was exciting until the CB product owner said I could not direct my leads to his page! I was confused so I stopped.

A friend mentioned to me that Craigslist may not allow advertising like that. Not sure. I did this maybe four or five years ago.

All I can say that it was exciting until..... I got bummed. But now I'm back to master internet marketing.

I think your post is waay too generic and doesn't really say anything. Have you had success with anything? Care to share your results? I think most of us would be eager to learn more.

I think the poster you quoted is saying that after investing in all those things, one would need to make more than just one dollar.

To answer his/her question: this thread is not about investing in any of that.

Im a little bit embarrassed to admit that. But if it helps someone make a whole dollar then maybe Iam doing something good LOL
