Forum name suggestion

I am starting a new forum. So, I need a good forum name. I think something about reqforum.com. But, when I type in google reqforum, most of the top sites are on the first page and that is the problem..:/

What is your new forum about?
Do you want a name specifically targeted towards the forum subject or just a general name?

    Mihailo,

Why is that a problem? How is it different from what you'll find in every different niche that you enter? It's always going to be the case that "most of the top sites are on the first page."

Your job as a new business owner is to get your business to replace the businesses that are currently in the top search results.

That's always been the way it works.

"Everything" does not seem very targeted to me.

I would suggest having a forum with a topic. A topic is much more important than the name.

I agree with you. I don't think it is a good idea to start a forum about everything. You must target a particular area.

    I have two topic.

    Forum Management or Warez.

Forum Management - Web hosting, domains, forum software etc.
Warez - Movies, Tv Shows, nulled, gamed etc.

    What will be more popular?

      Mihailo,

Before you decide, why don't you do a little research online and see what forums exist in each topic, see how many members those forums have, how active the posters are . . . etc.

You will be most successful if you can fill a gap in the marketplace. Don't be just like everybody else in the niche you choose - get a little creative and try to provide value to your forum members. One of the best ways to do that is focus on discussing those things in your market that are not talked about enough in other places (forums). If people in the niche don't find something new and different about your forum . . . why would they choose to join? They'll just say they're happy with the status quo.

      Good luck to you,

      Steve

You should make a forum similar to TMZ. You can make something like this popular using social media. Or.... you could make a forum about Rap/Hip-Hop "beefs". Anything entertaining, since that's the direction you want to go in.

If you do that, you'll find it easier to get traffic than with forum management. But warez fans are freebie-seekers of a most particular sort. They want their warez 100% free, no strings attached, no surveys or sign-ups, preferably from a torrent network.

So: it'll be easier to get the traffic; true. But monetizing your traffic will be a whole other story!

        Thanks for the relpy.
So, I don't like that kind of forum (like a torrent network).

Do you suggest to open forum management?

You could call it "Warez - the Beef"!

But, seriously...What are your reasons for wanting to start a forum? Depending on how motivated you are to get it started, you may want to read these other recent threads for some things to think about...

How do you get people to participate on a forum?
Is it worth it to make a forum?

Forums are a dime a dozen these days. As others have said do some research and see what already exists. No sense in trying to compete with 2-3 well established forums unless you are extremely passionate and dedicated to your niche.

Personally, I wouldn't bother starting a forum until you've established a leverage of subscribers. The vast majority of people who view forums don't actually participate in them, they lurk. And the ones who do participate, do so because there are already people on there.

Loading a vBulletin forum onto YourRandomDomain.com isn't going to do a whole lot until you can seed the forum with a base amount of interaction and then lean on some sort of a promotional method for targeted and interested users. It'll sit there sad and empty, otherwise. ;-)

Develop a plan for getting your first 250 registrations and then keeping them active. Based on that plan, then hone in on your domain name and topic. If within that plan you can't answer the who, what and why of your forum, then you're wasting your time.
