Folks, I came across this nice video yesterday and I just fell in love with the sound. I believe she created it in a studio or something.

I currently use camtasia studio to create my videos. Do you know what software/app that can get me that exact sound?

I will appreciate it a lot.

BWT here's link to the video: evs » Inner Guidance

Oh, wow. It might be nice for a few seconds, but I couldn't imagine listening to that for a full half hour. Just my personal opinion.

In any case, looks like you can get that in Audacity, under Effect > Echo, and playing around with the numbers a bit to get exactly what you want.

I happen to like the sound very much that I could listen to it all day

Thanks David, I will check it out as I have audacity on my computer already.

BTW Dave, can I use Camtasia along side Audacity for video production?

I wonder what kind of video encoding it uses because it won't load on my computer.

  • When recording audio, it's a lot harder to turn a crappy raw input into something nice using post production techniques.

The key is to have a great source input.

What do I mean by great source input? There are two main problems to over come when recording:

    1. Keeping unwanted sounds out (A/c, other people, dogs, cars, computer fan, etc.)
    2. Reverberation. Go in the room you want to record in and clap your hands... What do you hear after the clap? Do you hear a fast echo? This is reverb and you do not want it. You want to just hear the clap once and that's it. Your room has 6 sides and reverb bounces off opposite walls. So if your room is carpeted, then the floor and ceiling are already treated, you just need to worry about the four vertical walls. Place some sort of sound absorbing material on two of the walls that are opposite each other (could be a comforter or a mattress).

    Good luck!

The problem with Youtube and Twitch and all these streamers is that nobody is taking the time to do it right. Which means most of these niches are wide open for the taking, because everything starts with production quality. Your content can be the best ever but if nobody can understand what you're saying and everything's distorted and the camera is shaky, well...

If you want to get into real production of sounds, you need to leave the video editing to the video editing software and export the audio over to a real DAW, meaning a digital audio workstation, like Logic Pro or Pro Tools. There are others but if you're going to take the plunge and get past the learning curve, you might as well do it right.

You don't need to worry about how to duplicate an effect so much as how to duplicate the quality. Once you can do that you'll know how to create the effect. I'm talking microphone, preamplifier, equalizer, compressor, interface. And like the guy above me points out, even before that you need to control the acoustic environment too, usually done with acoustic treatment.

It's a simple echo. I don't know what software you would use to
produce the effect for that kind of video but I'm guessing if you Google
    it you'll find something.

Good luck but I agree with opinions expressed above. The effect would
produce decent results as a highlight... like underlining or bolding written
text... but would become annoying and lose effect if used for an extended
    time.
