how would you draft a "thanks for subscribing" email for someone who opted in more than 2 months ago

Hello everybody

how would you draft a "thanks for subscribing" email for someone who opted in more than 2 months ago?

i'm talking about the Forex niche, a lot of money has been invested to get those leads, but unfortunately nobody has really built an email relationship with them yet

i know it's not ideal to contact the leads after a couple of months, but i'm talking about a great amount of leads who opted in a while ago and by just saying "welcome / thanks for subscribing" might cause a confusion

which tactic would you use to create a smoother engagement >?

thanks Ori

Sorry, from my experience, even if you craft out the best Thank You email, they all will land in the Spam folder of gmail users at the very least.

Hint: you may want to reintroduce yourself and remind them of how they joined your list. If not, I fear that 30% of them will mark it as Spam.

This will mark the death of your list.

Maybe you should read a manual on how to re-engage a stale list.

    Goodluck!

30%!! Maybe if you start the email by saying "Warning: this is SPAM - report me" you might hit 5%.

Otherwise, unless you scraped your list from the "Trolls of the Internet - Unite!" Facebook group you're going to get stung by 1 out of 1,000.

Subject: Knock, knock? Anybody in there? I almost fell off the face of the earth.

    Body:

Hey, let me start by apologizing. Life got the best of me, and I wasn't able to stay in touch with you like I wanted to. The good news is, I'm back, though, and I've solved a major problem I think you're having.

In case you don't remember me, I'm the guy from xxx.com -- you subscribed a while back to receive my free gift titled '101 ways to flip currencies in today's landscape'.

My trading portfolio has come a long way since you first subscribed, and I'm excited to let you in on the new developments in my business, and help you learn more ways to increase your ROI, stop wasting so much time, and cut through the fluff that is the majority of Forex trading information.

To show you how stoked I am to be your host, here's a short report I put together outlining the current state of trading that we're facing.

Take a look at it, then hit 'reply' and let me know what you thought -- even if you think it should be printed to be used to prop up a table leg.

Also, keep a look out for more emails from me if you're wanting to trade like a pro.

    ------------------------------

I don't know your market, but hopefully it gets your wheels spinning.

Just come out and say hello to the list. Tell them that your glad to have them on board and to keep an eye out because you have some very good stuff to share with them soon.

I think op should see if a moderator can move this to the copywriting forum. I think he would get better (though possibly meaner) responses there.

I wouldn't make a big deal of it. No-one signed up to your list and then spent the last 2 months wondering where your emails are. Just write your first email casually as if you've been sending them emails every week (without lying or anything like "so, last week I sent you such-and-such"). They'll just assume they've been missing your emails.

BUT put so much value and personality in this first email that they get hooked. Yeah you might get a few report you as spam, but probably not. I've done this before with lists of 30,000 and never experienced any problems.

This is the same principle as blogging. It's the corniest thing in the world to take a few months' break from blogging and then begin your next post with "well, I haven't blogged for a while". No-one cares. Really.
