Need some help: How much for one registerd user.

We programmed more than 4 years to create online software and I'm thinking about giving it away for free. That is incl. Hosting and profit sharing.

It is great community software, to build a forum, social network, link directory or marketplace and I like people to use it. So they can build their own network.

Now I'm calculating how much it will cost me to get a new user of the software. But I'm a little bit lost in how much it will be?

Does there any numbers exist on how much it cost to get a new user of free software products?

    If anyone replies to your question understand that the number they give you is for a different software than yours, different customers than you will have, coming from a different offer page, at a different point in time, and a different audience.

    Of course my point is that what others do in their business has absolutely no relevance or bearing on what you might or will do in your business.

      I agree with you 100%, but if 20 people reply with 20 different numbers, i will have a low and a high point. And that might help me in my calculations.
